No Kidding! There are NO Dinosaurs in the Bible - with one exception! Birds. Birds are direct descendants of dinosaurs, evolving from coelurosaurs, like Compsognathus, Sinosauropteryx, and Caudipteryx and Maniraptors like Dromaeosaurus, Rahonavis, Microraptor, and Troodon. Most scientists with great boldness even state that birds are dinosaurs, the sole survivors of the great extinction that took place 65 million years ago, which means Ostriches, Eagles, Robins, Wrens, even Humming birds are all included in the same scientific class that Tyrannosaurus Rex, Stegosaurus, Bambiraptor, Apatosaurus, Abelisaurus, Triceratops, Homalocephale, Stegoceras, Ornithomimus, and others are all a part of— Class Dinosauria! Traditional classification for birds is Aves. Even so, they are still they are a part of Dinosauria, thanks to the most spectacular fossils to ever have been dug up from China. So why do young earth demagogues persistently turn a blind eye at every evidence ever shown to the world for birds being dinosaurs? Because they're so indoctrinated into believing that everything, including birds, appeared out of nothing thousands of years ago and that nothing evolved over time that they will not even hear of the truth behind the Archaeoraptor forgery which YECs keep touting to convince their gullible followers of how wrong scientists are in everything that has to do with evolution and prehistory. And yet turned a blind eye to their own wrong doing they parade about in every art, seminar, video, crackhouse, and especially literature. Especially this book entitled Dinosaurs and the Bible by David Unfred published in 1990.
About the Book
I think I first remembered seeing this when I was in high school around in the late 80s' to early 90s'. Just like in Duane Gish's Dinosaurs: Those Terrible Lizards, I only looked at the dinosaurs while overlooking the contents of the book. But my actual memory of my first sighting of the book is kind of vague. Anyway, Dinosaurs and the Bible (DATB) is all about a bunch of blatant, stupid lies and true human opinions made up and falsely disguised as "Biblical Truth" and imposed upon as if they were coming out of God's mouth, getting all their inspirations from science fiction and enforced by these demagogues who will do whatever it takes to impose their outright falsehoods on everyone whether they like it or not.
History of YE Dinosaur Literature
What You Should Know About — Dinosaurs (1971-1973) by Bernard Northrup is probably the very first known creationist book on dinosaurs ever published followed by Man, Dinosaurs, and History (1977) by Frederick Beierle, The Great Dinosaur Mistake (1977) by Kelly Seagraves, Dinosaurs Those Terrible Lizards (1977) by Duane Gish, The Great Dinosaur Mystery and the Bible (1987) by Paul Taylor, and this one, DATB. DATB, as usual, contains all sorts of YEC claims on dinosaurs that has been refuted time and time again. And yet YECs absent-mindfully still make those claims to this very day. However, only in recent years is where we see many YECs abandoning 2 of the YEC claims on dinosaurs such as the Paluxy human footprint myth and the Japanese Fisherman boat myth involving an alleged Plesiosaur carcass, that's really a basking shark carcass. Yet, some still vehemently and vainly defend those myths to this very day. Kent Hovind, the jailbird, and Carl Baugh is one of them. These are the 2 myths found in this book.
Cover Description
Both the front and the back cover shows a scene where dinosaurs, humans, and modern animals running for their lives from the Great Flood coming their way that's made up of rising water, an earthquake, a severe storm, and a meteor shower. On the very back of the cover there is a summary made up by Carl Baugh, a YEC advocate even other YECs surprisingly highly regards him as a kook, yet the YECs are all kooks themselves including Answers in Genesis (AiG) (Say! There is an auto and financial insurance group that has the same acronym as Ken Ham's idiot organization!); creating a faux historical scenario that never existed. Yet, they continuously insist it's real.
Book Forward
Pages 2 and 3 of the book has the same thing and a forward by Gary Parker a self proclaimed professor of Biology at a Christian College in Florida found on page 2 that hypocritically states that dinosaurs have been used to lead people astray from the confidence of the Bible, which is exactly what creationists do themselves. It also states that this book will stimulate and satisfy the curiosities of young and old, while the book will actually do is lead people astray by young earth false teaching, setting them up for the fall and laying grounds for them to become atheists and agnostics, once they found out that they've been lied to all along.
The Bible Tells Nothing of Dinosaurs
On pages 6 and 7 there is no intro, but a oft-repeated myth about Behemoth of Job 40 being a Sauropod dinosaur, leaving for the reader some faulty clues that indicate that what they say about Behemoth is true, while in fact it's not due to the dinosaur's lack of mammalian genitals, bellybuttons, chewing teeth, and flexible jaws. The real answer to the meaningless question, "What does the Bible tell us about dinosaurs?" is nothing! The Bible tells nothing about dinosaurs with the exception of birds. Some examples include birds being created on the 5th day of creation (Genesis 1:21) and doves and pigeons being used for sacrifices offered up to the Lord by those who could not afford buy sheep or ox for this purpose (Leviticus 1:14-17). The Bible does speak of modern dinosaurs— all birds and nothing more.
Pages 8 and 9 still addresses the dinosaurs in the Bible myth by the so-called creation "scientists" who are not really scientists at all (You can see all throughout the book and other like it, YECs being described as creation "scientists," which they are in fact not.) and claims that these verses describes the dinosaur concerning about what it looked like and how it behaved, while in fact these verses in Job 40 actually describes
Justifying Stupid Lies
Then, Unfred claims that God was there at the very beginning and invokes the Bible verse in II Timothy 3:16 to justify their stupid lies, just like all cult leaders have done with their false teachings for who knows how long since Paul wrote it to Timothy many years ago during the time of the Roman Empire to encourage him more to study the Law of Moses, the Psalms of David, the Proverbs of Solomon, and the writings of the Prophets. Despite what Unfred says, there was no worldwide flood. He invokes Exodus 20:11 to justify his creation story to be a 6-24 hour day period, while the verse was not meant to established any form of chronological time. This no doubt echoes the teachings of Seventh Day Adventism where its believers observe the Sabbath day every Saturday of the week. It's responsible for the invention the young earth cult and its movement in the mid 1800s. Unfred claims that all of the animals was taken into the ark, which it's totally impossible for Noah to do concerning the ark being a 450x75x45 box - like vessel and the animal species living and extinct being about 90 million+ strong!
Making A Liar Out of God
Saying that God, whom the creationists claim never lies, created the earth thousands of years ago and yet finds that He in fact planted valid evidence that clearly points to the fact that the earth is billions of years old, is an act of blasphemy. It is really saying that God is the Devil, who deceives people and leads them to believe that God always tells the truth while he does the exact opposite. This is exactly what YECs like Unfred is doing, committing the most unforgivable sin against God by making such a blasphemous statement as being shown here.
Unfred arrogantly says "It's true! God says so! God cannot lie," which translates to "God lied. He didn't really say that. God is the biggest lair in the world," making a liar out of God when he claims this through circular reasoning, 'God has says so in His word, it's true, He cannot lie.' while the scientific evidence points to the exact opposite. Saying that God cannot lie, it says so in His Word that the Earth is young and dinosaurs live with man; and yet, we see evidences of the exact opposite of what the YECs are saying about what God has done is in fact calling God a liar. A sheer act of sacrilege and blasphemy indeed! YECs are known to commit this act of sacrilege and of blasphemy by using these kinds of circular reasoning and appeals to ignorance and authority by invoking God and the Bible to help justify their stupid lies. Using God as a pawn and a cop out and say that 'God says so' or 'God cannot lie,' about what we find in nature and in the ground, and yet find the exact opposite of what YECs claim about what God has done is an act of sacrilege and blasphemy! It's all about twisting the verses around to fit their own views and controlling God like a puppet or a robot making Him agreeing in every falsehood they made up in hopes that God will Ok'ed them and have a part in it, while in fact He won't.
Bringing on the Confusion Themselves
Unfred claims that there's a confusion made around about the dinosaurs and the Bible, while the YECs actually brought along the confusion themselves, while there is otherwise none. Unfred claims the problem comes from when we believe the ideas of people who are wrong and makes mistakes rather than believe the 'Words of God,' which are alleged to be always right in the creationists' own eyes. As a matter of fact, creationists are such people who are wrong, make mistakes, and blasphemously make their false ideas and God's Word one and the same in hopes of winning converts to their group only to find many people turning away from God and religion in general when they found that they've been lied to all along by a God and His "Word" that both claimed to never lie.
Their Own Way of Explaining The Science of Dinosaurs
Now we get to the Question, "What can science tell us about dinosaurs? Plenty! But that's not at all what the YECs wanted science to tell. YECs would often invoke Noah's Flood to help explain fossils and sedimentary rocks. There's no evidence for all of this. But that doesn't stop thel YECs from giving out the old global flood myth and say that perhaps people must have heard stories about giant reptiles that have escaped the flood on Noah's ark and thinks that could this be why stories of dragons are told all over the world from ancient time to now, right? Wrong! The answer is always "NO!" (Just like in one of those classic Capitol One Commercials)..
..to the claims of dragons being dinosaurs, Noah's flood being makers of fossils, and all other YE claims. And no, no one has ever heard of stories of giant reptiles being survivors of the flood on Noah's ark, because there were no such tales ever told back then during ancient times of long ago.
The History of Dinosaurs
Now we get to the YECs' own fabricated version of the history of the discovery of dinosaurs, where we read at the end of page 9 and all throughout pages 10-11 the discovery of dinosaur fossils being made by Gideon Mantell's wife, Mary Ann Mantell (misspelled as "Anne in the book), or was it Gideon, her husband who discovered the fossils according to one account? Anyway, Gideon, curious by the discovery of the fossils, sends them to a well known scientist named Baron Georges Cuvier. He was the one who first brought on the idea of animal extinction which are not caused by Noah's flood despite what the book claims. He examines the fossils of dinosaurs brought in by Gideon and thought that the fossil teeth Mary found were all from a hippopotamus or a rhinoceros. This was wrong. So Mantell, then, shows off the teeth to another scientist, who this time brought back the real answer. The teeth belonged to a large gigantic animal that resembles an iguana. Hence, what Mantell's wife has discovered (or did she discovered?) is a reptile not like any other, with teeth that resembles an iguana. Even Cuvier had to apologize to Mantell for giving him wrongful conclusions about it and acknowledges the teeth to be really the teeth belonging to an iguana-like reptile. This leads Mantell to name the creature Igunaodon, which means 'iguana tooth.' Iguanodon was a large plant eating dinosaur that lived 100 million years ago during the early Cretaceous period in what is now Europe. However, this is not the first dinosaur to be named and described by any person. Before that, Rev, Willian Buckland have unearthed and described a large meat eating 'reptile' he calls Megalosaurus, meaning 'huge reptile,' a dinosaur that lived 160 million years ago during the Mid Jurassic Period.
Unfred claims that Richard Owen, the man who invented the name "Dinosauria" in 1842 to describe Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, and Hylaeosaurus, 3 "reptiles" like no other, was a creationist due to him being a strong opposer of Darwin's theory of evolution. What he never told anyone is that Owen was not a young earth creationist and that he believed that birds descended from pterodactyls (flying reptiles) (Reference, here.) an idea that was eventually rejected due to fossil evidence. He also believed the layers of sedimentary rock each represents a period of time and has helped Waterhouse Hawkins build large life-like models of dinosaurs for the Crystal Palace exhibition.
Charles Darwin's Revolutionary Idea
Owen lived at the same time a revolutionary idea that came about by a famous British Naturalist named Charles Darwin, who set sail on the HMS Beagle and collected scores of evidence from fossils, plants, and animals to come up with an idea that plants, animals, and even people have went through a change that occurred over a period of time through natural selection. This is called evolution. You can read about Darwin and his groundbreaking idea in The Complete Work of Charles Darwin website. Darwin's ideas became a worldwide sensation. But it's not without major opposition from the church who rejected his views, (and still do!) because that idea contradicts the idea of God creating all things as told in Genesis 1 of the Bible. On page 12-13, Unfred gives out a straw man version of what evolution is, claiming that Darwin has convince many people to not believe in creation, which he didn't, and claims that no evidence of evolution have been found, which is a blatant lie.
He even claims that evolutionists are all enemies of God — a clear example of creationists demonizing anyone who oppose their dogma outright regardless of who they are — who accepts evolution by [sic] faith invoking Romans 1:20-25 to justify this lie. He hypocritically does not realize, or more likely ignore on purpose, of the fact that a leap of faith is never of what it takes to except evolution. Evidence? Yes. But a leap of faith? No. Evolution is not at all a religion that requires people to have faith. Creation does! He also ignores the fact that many evolutionists are Christians who accept the fact that God created everything and that verse in Romans 20, believe it or not, clearly describes the likes of the YECs themselves who are really the ones who are without excuse, not evolutionists. Unfred then makes up this statement:
"True science, based on observation, logic, and knowledge, will always support what the Bible teaches."
It's ironic that YECs can say things like that, while not practicing what they preaches by making up lies, give out false evidence, nitpick at the mistakes of the scientists while hiding their own, rip quotes, legends, and rock carvings out of context, etc.? No, creationism is not about observation, but made-up fairy tales.
Time Establishments
Page 14 and 15 shows the claim that says the reason we have a 7th day week, while ignoring the real history of how we tell time, is because of Exodus 20:8-11 that tells us that God had made the world in 7 days. Creationists says this while ignoring the actual history of how people learn to tell time. That passage had nothing to do with an establishment of a chronological time period. It does say simply that the Israelites are to observe the Sabbath on the 7th day just like the Lord had done after He created the heavens and the earth. Besides what what we think what a day is and what God thinks about what a day is is 2 different things (Psalms 90:4). Unfred also asserts that dinosaurs were created on the 6th day of creation along side of all other land animals and man. If this is true then the world would have been a monstrously over-crowded place. In reality, the fossil record clearly reveals that dinosaurs lived and died long before there were any humans on earth. It's no sin and evil to accept such a concept. It also clearly reveals that dinosaur remains are not found mixed together with modern animals like giraffes and gorillas, let alone mixed together with trilobites, dimetrodons, mammoths, and man.
Flood Folly
Pages 16 and 17 reveals the old myth about dinosaurs being destroyed by Noah's flood. Unfred mentions some of the theories that were made in the past to explain the causes of the dinosaur extinctions in his book. But he believes that the dinosaurs were all killed in Noah's Flood, which there is no evidence for. What is bad about this concept is that the young earth version of the flood also includes volcanoes, earthquakes, and meteor showers, which the Bible speaks nothing about. This is all made up as an attempt to explain the evidence of earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and meteor showers each occurring in separate events over a period of time.
Pages 18 and 19 only gives out 3 examples of how a volcano have caused devastation all over the world throughout time. Like the Krakatoa volcanic eruption in 1883 that triggered a tsunami that destroyed the islands around the volcano, a Thera volcanic eruption occurred around the time of the Exodus and hit the island of Crete with waves up to 300 feet high, and a Tambora volcanic eruption that have cause a prolonged winter to occurred in the northern parts of the world in 1815.
On page 20, there is an example of an earthquake that have shook Missouri in 1811 and 1812 and an example of an asteroid slamming into the earth in Siberia in 1908 found on page 21. Unfred claims the craters on the moon were all made up by comets and meteors that have showered the moon and the earth during Noah's Flood. The problem is that the Bible tells absolutely zero of meteors and comets, earthquakes and volcanoes occurring during the Flood. The verses in Genesis 7:11, YECs interprets as a shower of meteors, and earthquake, and volcanic eruptions, actually tells of only torrential rainfall and tsunamis come crashing onto land during the flood. This is what the biblical scholars have long interpreted Genesis 7:11 to mean. No meters, no earthquakes, and no volcanoes. The moon craters were actually caused by many millions of meteors and comets hitting the moon gradually over the years due to lack of atmosphere found on the moon. A lack of erosion and little geological activity on the moon prevents the craters from dissolving away. This is why, unlike earth that does have an atmosphere, the moon has scores and scores of craters, large and small, covering the surface all the time.
Page 22 reveals the old silly flood story told the young earth way. A global flood with comets, meteors, earthquakes, volcanoes, and floodwaters destroying everything including freshwater fish, coral, plants, and everything else in this world. Mountains arose, great canyons and rock formations form and those so-called billions of dead things laid down by water all over the earth, all buried in mud. This silly flood story is a fictional, unlike the real great flood of Noah that actually happened in the Middle East right around the Black Sea that overflowed big time around 7,500 years ago. Although this is a localized event, by man's standards it was a dramatic event, where the wicked people were all drowned and Noah, his family and all of the modern middle eastern animals were all saved on board the ark. Nowhere else do we find earth's history being disrupted by Noah's flood anywhere. Not even in Egypt do we find such a thing over there. Mass Graveyard Does Not Prove A Flood
There is a claim of a mass graveyard in a valley in France where coal mining is important. It contains plants and animals, especially ocean life, amphibians, spiders, millipedes, scorpions and reptiles. The fossil graveyard Unfred claims serve as a memorial to Noah's Flood. This is false. What he is actually talking about is the Montceau-les-Mines, a mining community in France, featuring a large fossil bed containing fossils dated back to the Upper Carboniferous Period, around 300 million years ago. The fossils found in many layers indicate many incidents of local flooding that have occurred on many occasions throughout the time period. No way does it point to Noah's flood.
The Bible Solves Nothing
Pages 24 and 25 reveal a claim made up by the YECs like Unfred, who said the mystery of the dinosaur extinction can be solved by using God's Word, the Bible. It won't work. Using the Bible to explain scientific mysteries is like using a banana to drive a nail into the wall or using a mechanic book to know how to make furniture. The Bible will do nothing to solve the mystery of what really happened to the dinosaurs because it's not in there. The Bible was written at the time science, evolution, dinosaurs and other prehistoric life were completely unknown. However, Unfred, just like the other YECs, still claims that the Bible has all the answers to the so-called great dinosaur mystery, which includes the fallacy of fossils being made up of animals being buried in mud by the great flood of Noah, which the fossil evidence rules clearly against. Not all rock layers were made of mud. There were also layers of rock that is made up of sand, volcanic ash, and sediment from the lakes and rivers and oceans.
YE Flood Folly
Noah's flood was not even responsible for the Maiasaura fossil grave site made up of 10,000 Maiasaura fossil eggs, young, sub-adult and full grown adult. See Oard's Flood Folly for details. According to fossil evidence, the Maiasauria were all killed in an ash fall 80 million years ago when a volcano erupted near by where they lived. Unfred then states that those who don't believe the Bible, especially when all those young earth lies have been shoehorned inside by the likes of Unfred, say that an asteroid hit the earth, creating a global disaster that wiped out the dinosaurs, pterosaurs, and all other 75% of life on earth, which is true due to the physical evidence point to such an event.
Unfred says that they are close to what the Bible teaches about the flood, thus becoming harder to reject the [sic] true history that is recorded in God's word, which it's not there. If they are close to what the so-called Bible of the YECs teaches is true, then how come we are finding none of what the "Letter of the Law" claims to be true concerning about the fossil record? How come what is recorded in so-called God's Word according to the YECs is anything BUT true? Why is the fossil record telling us that the fossils are all the result of local floods, volcanic eruptions, droughts, failed attempt to cross rivers at flood stages, killed off by predators, and sandstorms? There's no question of YECs complete ignorance. Many times scientists unveil evidence of evolution and an old earth to the YECs, only for them to turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to them because they are themselves convinced that their ways is right and true, not evolution. None of the YECs have a single honest answer for all of the questions being asked about how the fossils are formed and why did dinosaurs became extinct. They don't have an honest answer to the question, 'If God wanted to salvage all of the animals especially dinosaurs, then why are they extinct?' either. So, they make up lies about them as they go along and falsely call them 'truth.'
Ice Age Idiocy
One of the falsehood YECs made up to explain the dinosaur extinction is the Ice Age myth that says the Ice Age occurred after the flood killing off many animals including wooly mammoths, rhinos and dinosaurs; invoking their own interpretation of Job 37:9-10 to justify their faulty claim. This claim, however, is totally refuted on these 2 web pages as shown right here and here.
Dragon Lie
Another falsehood is the dinosaur-as-dragon myth where people have alleged to meet, fought, and kill dinosaurs which the ancients regards as dragons. Never mind the fact that dinosaurs and dragons are not one and the same. Every dragon tale in ancient manuscripts describes a dragon that has a body that resembles that of a snake, women's genitals, bat wings totally different than that of a pterosaur, poison breath, impenetrable scales, and in some cases multiple heads. Something dinosaurs and pterosaurs don't have at all. There is no evidence of any kind of men killing off dinosaurs ever been found in all of ancient history. Dinosaurs, except birds, were long dead by the time the first humans came along around 4 million years ago. Yet, YECs still continued to spread such lies they made up around in order to keep their followers from falling away.
The Importance of Conservation
Then, Unfred claims that many animals today are becoming extinct by man who have been hunting them down for their furs, tusks, and horns and changing the environment around making deserts where where forest and grassland used to be. True, but it isn't just Christians who need to be concerned over the environment as well as the people's needs. It should be everybody, especially people of all faiths who needs to find a balance in taking care of God's creation as well as meeting the needs of the people, which we do find such a case— by forming many organizations that do meet the needs of the people as well as clean up the environment such as Habitat for Humanity, the AD Council, World Wildlife Federation, and the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). These are some of the best examples of organizations that do such things to make a huge difference in this world. These great organizations do care and work very hard to protect the environment as well as care for the people needs all over the world and so much more, making the world a much better place for them to live in than before.
Why Are Dinosaurs Huge?
Pages 26 and 27 deals with the question, "Why were dinosaurs so large?" Of course dinosaurs came in many different shapes and sizes and many dinosaurs were indeed huge. Unfred gave some examples of Seismosaurus and Ultrasaurus (Ultrasauros, now regarded as the same as Supersaurus) being the longest and the tallest of the dinosaurs. He also mentions about dinosaurs hatching from eggs and says the largest egg in the world is the extinct 'elephant bird' the moa.
He also mentions about the largest dinosaur egg, which is about 10 inches long. It was laid by a Titanosaurid, a sauropod known as Hypselosaurus from the Late Cretaceous period of Europe. Unfred also tells about the Maiasaura eggs that was found in Montana in an area that is known as Egg Mountain and then tackles the mystery, "How do dinosaurs got so big after they hatched from a small egg?" What this book neglects to tell the reader is that in recent years, scientists were amazed to learned that dinosaurs grow up real fast. One example is that of Sauropods, giant size dinosaurs that can amazingly grow from hatchling to an adult within a matter of 10-15 years. In other cases dinosaurs, like Maiasaura, can grow from hatchling to an adult in a matter of 4-5 years. Otherwise no one knows for sure how long did dinosaurs lived when it come to their life spans. However, Unfred gives out an exaggerating life span of a Seismosaurus to be several hundred years old, which is highly unlikely. It has been estimated for sauropods to live to be between 100 and 200 years old. Other dinosaurs lived much less than that (Recent studies shows us that the average lifespan of a T.Rex is in fact 30 years.).
Despite Unfred's assertions, the Haversian canals within the dinosaur bone is used not to determined their age, but to determined their growth rate. This is how scientists can learned how fast dinosaurs can grow by just studying those canals in the bone. They learned dinosaurs have more canals in the bones than reptiles. This most likely means that they are warm blooded even though there is a debate going on about whether dinosaurs are either warm blooded or cold blooded.
Canopy Myth
Unfred, on page 28, claim the old vapor canopy myth to be the ones responsible for making the earth a very warm place back then, which to the creationists explain how did dinosaurs lived in the North Pole according to the book, never mind the fact that if there ever was a vapor canopy, then the earth would be exactly like Venus, scorching hot and inhospitable. Footprint Follies
Most of pages 28 and 29 talks about dinosaur footprints. Unfred claims that the footprints were preserved in the flood, while actually if there ever was such a flood, the footprints would have easily eroded away. He asserted that the sauropod footprints indicate the sauropod adults were protecting their young from a great wall of water coming at them. This is all made up. There's no evidence for it. How can the footprints be preserved by Noah's flood while the violent flood waters, the craters, the volcanoes, and the earthquakes would actually destroy them? And why are the footprints show of dinosaurs walking instead of running? This book also features the Paluxy footprint fallacy involving alleged human footprints found alongside of dinosaur prints at the Paluxy River near Glen Rose, Texas. Unfred asks, "Does this is evidence of dinosaurs and people together at the Paluxy? The real answer is no. Unfred claims that evolutionists doesn't want any evidence to exist for man and dinosaurs living at the same time. Why should they not want any evidence to exist when there's absolutely none of such evidence found to begin with?
Paluxy Hoax
The prints are nothing more than poorly preserved dinosaur prints carved into human prints by hoaxers to attract gullible tourists. Many YECs, even Ken Ham and his cronies abandoned the Paluxy claim and is even featured in the list of hypocritical arguments they think creationists should not use as shown right here. Still, there are YECs who continuously defend the Paluxy myth even though it's a lost battle. Carl Baugh, an advocate for the fakes has a small crackhouse set up in Glen Rose, Texas not too far away from the Dinosaur Valley State Park (A thorn of the side of the park!), which contains some alleged artifacts that claims to show evidence of a young earth, while in fact those artifacts are really fakes, frauds, hoaxes, and something else. For example, the so-called fossil finger Baugh thinks it's real is actually a shrimp burrow carved into a human finger. Another one, the so-called man's tooth is really a fish tooth found near the alleged human foot tracks. And finally, the so-called antediluvian pre-flood hammer is actually a miners hammer dated a few hundred years ago that's discarded and eroded into the Mesozoic rock. Baugh even have helped to made a creationism propaganda film called The Mysterious Origins of Man (I saw that program one time and bawled over it admittedly), a show that met with a lot of criticism and ridicule. Pterosaurs
Pages 30 and 31, now deals with pterosaurs, flying reptiles that soared the skies above the dinosaurs all throughout the Mesozoic era, millions of years ago. On those pages, Unfred claims the fabled canopy with thicker denser air have provided the dinosaurs to breathe and for pterosaurs to fly with ease. This myth has no merit. If the canopy was the case the earth (like I said) would make the Earth be like Venus— hot and inhospitable. No dinosaur will ever breathe with ease and no pterosaur will ever fly. They will all be roasted and scorched to death if such a canopy exists! On the lower right hand corner of page 31, there is an address for families to go on a dinosaur dig that isn't really a dig at all. But an indoctrinational concentration camp where hapless families go to be indoctrinated into YECism through seminars and field trips to careful selective places where they think there is nothing in the area that will refute their YEC doctrine, or so they think. Cryptozoology
Now on pages 32 - 37 deals with the issue of cryptozoology and the 4 stories. One is the catching of a living coelacanth, a fish which YECs claim to debunks evolution, but what the fishermen caught in 1938 is really a different species of coelacanth called Latimeria chalumnae, in the family Latimeriidae. The coelacanth that became extinct 70 million years ago is the species Coelacanthidae, a species with a much different anatomy than the modern coelacanth. The other is the alleged last pterosaur story, on page 34, which tells of a living pterosaur sighting being made at the railway tunnel construction site in France. That is actually a hoax. A hoax you can read about here for details. Next is the Plesiosaur myth, also found on page 34 and 35, involving a strange fisherman's catch on a Japenese fisherman's boat, that is later known to be a basking shark. And finally, the alleged sightings of Mokele Mebembe in the African Congo Basin found on pages 36 and 37 has no evidence of fully intact dinosaurs being found as well as eggs, valid footprints, valid photos, valid writings, nesting grounds, youngsters, and bones found in that area in Africa. The story about the African Native's encounter with the creature as told in the book is most likely fictitious. If you want to prove these story to be true, you must have valid evidence for all of this which included a fully intact dinosaur, pterosaur, and Mesozoic marine reptile, But none are found. So it is highly inconsistent and unaccounted for to endorse these myths to prove this young earth lie to be true.

Young Earth Extremism Teaches Nothing
Now we get to pages 38 - 41 where we are asked, "What can dinosaurs teach us?" The simple, yet honest answer to the question asked on page 38 is nothing! They teach nothing about the bible and morality. But YECs think they do and gives out the so-called salvation message that totally sets the people up for the fall. The salvation message is useless, destructive, and dangerous. This web page will tell you why.
Appendixes
Now we get to the appendixes part of the book on pages 42-45 which tells of the vegetarian T.rex joke-of-a-fallacy and the Biblical creation model of Earth's history that's totally flawed to the core. First is the Veggie eating T.rex crank that's all full of laughs. Unfred states, in this book, that unlike evolutionists, creation "scientists" make up hypotheses based on scientific facts and their own biases (ideas) about what happened in the past. The truth is totally the opposite. The thing YECs claim to do is exactly what they claim evolutionists do— make up lies, slander, false evidence, false witnesses, take quotes, images, and parts of ancient legends out of context, engage in bickering, mudsling, scapegoating, insulting, being arrogant and excommunicate those that oppose their views, discriminate, be prejudice, and much, much more.
In the first section, Pages 42 and 43 falsely depicts T.rex as a plant-eater and claims to be so because the teeth of his would have snapped off in battle. That's no reason to reject such a notion that T.rex was a full fledged meat-eater! Creationists claim the teeth has shallow roots. They don't and they know it! The teeth are in fact deeply rooted, highly thick, conical, long lasting, homodontical, and very powerful. When a tooth breaks off, it doesn't matter, for a new on will grow to take the place of the old one. T.rex have been known to have teeth that is up to 6 - 13 inches long. YECs, like Unfred, compares T.rex teeth with the teeth of a spider monkey to convinced the gullible that just because the animal has sharp teeth doesn't mean it is a meat eater.
Rather just because an animal has blunt teeth doesn't mean it eats plants. It just comes to show that YECs knows absolutely nothing about animal dentistry and the fact that the spider monkey's teeth is made up of biters, molars, and canine teeth, which is what those kinds of sharp teeth are in fact called. These 3 types of teeth are featured exclusively in mammals, especially in omnivores. However, one dinosaur, Heterodontosaurus, also had 3 sets of teeth, too. This is a plant-eater that used its biters to bite at plants (actually it's a diurnal omnivore. It eats bugs and eggs, too.), molars for chewing plants, and "canines" for probably defensive weapons against their enemies. The spider monkey's canines, on the other hand, are smooth, thin, and blunt at the point and could never have tear up raw meat like T.rex can, for its teeth is too weak to do that. T.rex teeth, in huge contrast to the spider monkey's teeth, is only one set of strong, thick, rigid, homodontical, and sharp at the point teeth capable of tearing at raw meat and punctured through bone without a problem. Thus, comparing T.rex teeth with the teeth of a spider monkey to prove a point is all the way useless. If God wanted all animals especially T.rex to eat plants, He should've never gave some of the animals everything of what it takes to be carnivore such as sharp claws and teeth, a stomach for only red food (meat), and strong legs to chase after meals and yet demands them to eat only plants.

The Creation Model
The second section on page 44 and 45 is the Creation Model. False and flawed to the core. Lies, denials, falsehoods, the whole enchilada. None of what they're saying is true. Despite all this, No rock layers containing fossils of all animals and people mixed together was ever found, there is tons of evidence for the Continental drift, countless incidents of gradual burials of FAR LESS than billions of dead things laid down in various kinds of rock, other than mud, by various circumstances occurring in many different periods of time all over the earth, scores of transitional forms, and a whole host of others evidences of an ancient earth YECs deliberately chose to deny. Page 46 shows the acknowledgments and an address to get a teachers guide to the book. The better to brainwash students into believing in young earth lies with. Page 47 finally shows the index of the book.
Conclusion
David Unfred obviously works alongside of Carl Baugh, the YE creationist some YECs regarded as a kook. ALL YECs are kooks no matter what they say and do. This book teaches nothing of what the book claims to teach about dinosaurs, evolution, and earth's history. Nor will the Bible help you with your education about dinosaurs, evolution, and earth's history either. There are NO Dinosaurs like Triceratops, Allosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, and Apatosaurus found in the Bible! Instead it contains passages that tells of a dinosaur returning to Noah's ark holding an olive branch on its beak (doves; Genesis 8:11) and another passage that tells of a flock of dinosaurs feeding Elijah in the wilderness during the first part of the 3 year drought (ravens; I Kings 17:4) and another passage that tells about dinosaurs that never worry about where to get food because God takes care of them and feed them (sparrows; Mathew 6:26) and much more. These verses in the Bible refers to these special modern dinosaurs that are all known as birds. Birds are the one and only dinosaurs to have ever be found in the Bible, NOT Mesozoic Non-avian dinosaurs.
