In May of 2006, 2 creationists, Bodie Hodge and Buddy Davis publish the article, Two Fighting Dinosaurs?, where they give out what they believed to be evidence of 2 dinosaurs being buried in Noah's Flood, while, in fact, these 2 dinosaurs were both locked in mortal combat that ended when a severe, sudden sandstorm came and buried the 2 dinosaurs in situ 80 million years ago during the Mid to Late Cretaceous Period in what is now Mongolia.
In 1971, a team of polish scientists unearthed an amazing find. Fossil remains of Velociraptor and Protoceratops who both died together while fighting one other for survival. Velociraptor was slashing at Protoceratops' underbelly while holding onto Protoceratops' neck frill with its forearms while Protoceratops was biting one of Velociraptor's forearms with its beak. Both dinosaurs died together in the sandstorm.
However, this is not what those 2 creationist clowns really want you to believe. In this article, these 2 creationists try to make their case for their idiocy by claiming that the fossil was made during the Flood that never occurred. This article comes to show how ignorant these 2 creationists are in their talks on dinosaurs. First, in the intro to the article, they tell about how the fossil was found and says that in 2000, the fossil was transferred from China to the US to be put on temporary display at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. Then, in the Why is this find significant? section, the two creationists began their idiocy,
"Consistent with a truly biblical perspective, these dinosaurs were buried by sandy sediment that fossilized them rapidly. This find testifies to the impact of the global Flood of Noah’s day."
If that was the case, they would've been in fact be swept away, not buried in one spot. While they're being swept away they would have been forced to let go of each other because the waters would have been to violent for them to still hold on to each other with their beaks and claws. This find in fact testifies to nothing. Nor are they consistent with the “truly biblical perspective” so-falsely called. What the 2 creationists teach is nothing more than a made-up fairy tale as a result shoehorning made up stories and distorting Bible passages by twisting them to fit their wayward beliefs.
Next, they said,
"This amazing specimen is not the only fossil found in this area of the world; there are hundreds of others in the Gobi Desert— creatures that were fossilized quickly due to rapid burial. Dinosaurs such as oviraptors, velociraptors, sinornithoides, pinacosaurus and protoceratops as well as lizards, crocodiles and small mammals have been found preserved rather well."
They were all buried in the sandstorm, no doubt.
"The two dinosaurs were found in Late Cretaceous sandstone layers, which secular scientists translate to be about 80 million years old. These same layers, according to the biblical model, would be part of the late Inundatory Stage or early Recessive Stage of the Flood as seen in Dr. Tas Walker’s Biblical Geology Rock-Scale."
Walker's fabled geology rock scale is entirely flawed! It does nothing to explain the valid evidence surrounding the 2 fossils that says the fossils were buried quickly in a sandstorm.
The 2 creationists, then, tried to make their case in the next section, What Explanations Do Secular Scientists Offer for Such Sudden Burial and Preservation? by giving out what they claimed to be problems behind the explanations scientists suggests to help explain the fossils based on valid evidence.
The first thing they claim is that the sand dune, which the scientists' first suggestion, do not contain “the water needed to replace the minerals in bones for fossilization on such a large scale.” It does - after it rains in the desert. Although the desert is dry, it does receive rain once in a huge while. The weight of the water after an occasional rain storm would have weaken the sand dune's structure, causing it to collapse and bury anything within its path.
Next, Here's what they stupidly claim about the so-called “freak sandstorm,”
"A freak sandstorm would also lack the water to properly fossilize buried specimens. Second, if a sandstorm came upon these dinosaurs, they would likely try to escape that new threat and not remain in place. The aggressor would probably yield and seek safety.”
A sandstorm (or dust storm) is a rapid moving dry desert storm that involves a huge 5,000 ft tall wall of dust and sand that's carried along by strong winds at speeds in excess of over 120 km/h (which is about a whopping 80 MPH). Dinosaurs are slowpokes compare with a 5,000 foot tall wall of sand coming at them at a top speed of 80 MPH (Even Velociraptor couldn't outrun an 80MPH dust cloud. The speed of a running Velociraptor is estimated at about roughly 40 MPH and that's only for short bursts!). No dinosaur can outrun a speeding wall of sand that will have no trouble rapidly burying small animals, especially dinosaurs, on the spot in the deep desert sand. Water is not always necessary in fossilizing dinosaur bones.
Next, the 2 creationists tries to debunk the idea that the dinosaurs died after they sank in the quicksand by claiming stupidly,
"Again, they would likely try to escape that new threat and not remain in place. The aggressor would yield and seek safety. We once again have the problem of many other specimens in the area also sinking in quicksand.”
No one trapped in the quicksand will try to escape. They will be stuck there and remain in place as the quicksand pulls them to their demise. Can't these young earth clowns think of something less stupid than that?
This idea of dinosaurs dying in the quicksand was first purposed until it was discovered that the sediments surrounding the fossil are eolian; coming from sand dunes. As a result, the quicksand theory was thrown out instantly. Besides, if the 2 dinosaurs were buried in the quicksand, then it would be impossible for scavenging dinosaurs to get at the 2 forelimbs and one hind limb that's missing on the Protoceratops fossil.
As I was writing this article and researching on other dinosaur articles needed to debunk young earth crap, I found out something I didn't notice before when I read and looked at the fossil until now. There is in fact no 3 limbs found on the body of Protoceratops when the fossil was unearthed years ago. Even the creationists are aware of this and tried to debunk the fighting dinosaurs idea in a supplement article located at the very bottom of the page that's entitled, Are They Really Fighting?, where they claimed that Protoceratops couldn't fight due to the lack of fore and hind limbs on its body and asserts falsely that perhaps the concept of fighting dinosaurs was made up without carefully considering the evidence for their young earth dogma— all while ignoring the valid evidence against their dogma that tells them that the fighting dinosaurs were both buried together in a sandstorm as Velociraptor holds onto Protoceratops frill and slashing away at its underbelly while Protoceratops desperately tries to fight back by biting the hand of its enemy with its sharp beak. Afterwords, the Protoceratops' body was picked at by scavenging dinosaurs that came, dug up the carcass, chew off 3 of its limbs, and took off to feast on them elsewhere before the bodies were eventually covered in desert sediment and become fossilized. Besides, if the dinosaurs weren't fighting, then why is Velociraptor holding onto Protoceratops' neck fill and have its sickle clawed foot underneath its prey that's in turn holding onto one of its enemy's forelimbs with its sharp beak?
Apparently, this is another one of those questions creationists can never answer in an honest way.
The conclusion they reached is found in the last segment entitled, Biblical Explanation—the Flood! [NOT!], where they give out the usual drivel about dinosaurs including these 2 usual retarded notions mentioned here which is, (1) The notion of dinosaurs being alive at the time of Noah since they are land animals and land animals were created on Day 6 of Creation Week, which does not explain why we find no human, dinosaur, and other living and extinct animals remains entwined with each other in the fossil record and (2) the notion of dinosaurs being on the ark since Noah took up all kinds of unclean animals, including dinosaurs, with him, while failing miserably to explain, in an honest way, how did Noah dealt with the problems associating with animal care on board the ark concerning space, food, health, disease, handling of wastes, and lack of ventilation if everything they claim was the case.
Besides, the only dinosaurs Noah ever took up into the ark were all birds. All the rest have died out 65 million years ago before there were any humans on earth.
Then, Davis and Hodge, in their great ignorance, boldly declares that the 2 dinosaurs, along with 2 larger dinosaurs, a 15-foot theropod that was interlocked with a bigger herbivore, a fish, they claimed, was buried so rapidly that they didn’t finish swallowing its dinner, and an Ichthyosaurus, they claimed, was rapidly buried before she finishes giving birth, were all quickly buried by the alleged Great Flood of Noah. All are blatant lies.
The 15 ft theropod was a Chinese version of Dilophosaurus known as D. sinensis. The dinosaur it was trying to bring down was Yunnanosaurus, a prosauropod. Both dinosaurs were found in the Yunnan Province in China. It was Paleontologist, Dong Zhiming, who thought that the 2 dinosaurs sank in the quicksand while fighting in battle on a lake bed. Still, that has nothing to do with Noah's Flood.
The fish (Mioplosus from the Eocene Epoch), in fact, was choked to death by its prey (Knightia) that was too large for it to go down the fish's throat. This is nothing that only happened in the past. Not too long ago, a large striped bass was found washed ashore of the Chesapeake Bay that was choked to death while trying to swallow a gizzard shard.
The Ichthyosaur (Stenopterygius from the Jurassic Period), on the other hand, was not buried quickly when she died. Her remains have been found in the Posidonia Shale, a black deposit area located in Holzmaden, Germany, which contains, not one, but several well preserved remains of Ichthyosaurs that have died while giving birth live young in an area that probably served as a special breeding ground for the Ichthyosaurs to come and reproduce. These Ichthyosaurs may have died in childbirth and sank into anoxic bottom waters full of hydrogen sulfide into anaerobic sediments. Afterwards, their bodies were scavenged by other marine reptiles and went through partial decay before sediment came and gradually buried the bodies in situ (Citations here.)
Creationists, like these men, never, ever get it in their heads that it never takes a violent flood to fossilized an animal. A quiet condition is all that is needed to gradually cover the fossil with sediment that will, over time, fill the bones with minerals that will change them to stone and be a fossil. The Flood would have, in fact, washed away all of the dinosaurs from their position instead of burying them on one spot as well as destroy their bones along the way, never to give the bones a chance to fossilize, if it did occurred as creationists claimed it did.
One of the greatest blasphemous sins anyone could ever do is make God and His Holy Word into a false witness. That's what these 2 creationists are doing here. Giving out one or the other, “god or goo” tripe, they tell the reader to,
"Remember, people are imperfect and were not there to witness the early history of the world, but a perfect God was…."
whom the creationists render into a lying, false witness who shows, tells, and explains nothing of what the scientific and historical evidence is in fact telling us all along.
"There is no need to trust imperfect men and their explanations of the world over God’s Word."
And neither is the need to trust creationists (who are all imperfect men themselves) like Hodge and Davis and their idiot explanations of the world over God's Word. Especially when it comes to the fact that these true lying, imperfect men, who wrote the article, are not true scientists at all. Bodie Hodge is just a mechanical engineer while Buddy Davis is just a sculptor and a musician who proselytizes children into believing and defending young earth dogma blindly and made up fairy tale stories about dragons in Eden and lies about the findings of “fresh fossils” he claimed to have “discovered” in Alaska.
"When you start with the Bible, the evidence is easily explained.”
Rather when you start with the Bible, you'll discover that it explains nothing— completely nothing. No evidence is explained through the Bible when it only comes from the creationists' own little heads and nowhere else. Here, as always, creationists, like these 2 men here, are demanding their gullible followers to hold on to young earth dogma falsely made one and the same with "God's Word" and distort every fossil finding, including the famous fossil of the 2 fighting dinosaurs, exactly the way creationists wanted them to be "interpret" as through their empty, idiotic presuppositions despite mounting valid evidence against their young earth idiocy.
And, as always, what the 2 men has proven here of what they claim about the 2 fighting dinosaurs is nil.
