Creationists are suckers for hoaxes! Anything to help them further their efforts to prove their dogma authentic.
Here's another pair of PH.D freaks who stupidly thinks getting a PH.D will make them reliable to the lay audience. In the 2003 article, Walking Amidst The Dinosaurs, 2 creationists, Brad Harrub and Bert Thompson from the Apologetics Press magazine website lies to the reader about dinosaurs and claims they have evidence pointing to the false notion of dinosaurs living with humans while the truth is the exact opposite of what they claim.
The article starts off,
“The numbers were staggering! Some time ago at a camp for Christian young people, a short, three-question quiz was given to the teenagers in attendance—most of whom were from homes with Christian parents (and many of whom already had made the decision to become a Christian themselves). The first question asked simply, “How long ago did the dinosaurs live?,” and provided four possible answers. Over 70% of those present answered that dinosaurs had walked this Earth millions of years ago.”
There's truth to the answer given by 70% of children going to camp. But these 2 creationists would like to make you think it's all a lie. If it is a lie, then why are we finding scores of physical evidence supporting the supposed lie? Why is the evidence pointing to such a so-called lie? Why are we not finding dinosaur remains alongside human remains? Why are we not finding dinosaurs with saddles, bridals, reins, and other parts of the harness? Why are there no signs of dinosaur remains found in human dwellings? Where are the dinosaur barns? Where are the remains of dinosaurs with spears embedded in them? Where are the tombs of humans and dinosaurs buried side by side? Where are the dinosaur remains that were eaten by humans and vice versa?
Obviously, creationists can't honestly answer that. Still they are in denial and the proof of their denial is right here in the article, where the 2 creationists assume that people get all these things from various sorts of media and claims,
“But try to harmonize the idea that dinosaurs existed millions of years ago—long before man is supposed to have arrived—with the Genesis account of creation. It simply cannot be done.“
Not with the creationists made-up dogma based on their distorted version of Genesis 1-11 it can't. Still, it will not explain why we are not finding graves of children holding remains of their pet dinosaurs like Hypsilophodon and Compsognathus in their arms.
In the next part of the article the 2 creationists claim,
“These youngsters were not atheists or agnostics from some “intellectually elite” university; they were our children—children who have been reared and nurtured in the church, and who believe Jesus Christ is the divine Son of God Who lived and died for them. And yet, by the time many had reached their teens, they already had discounted the words of the Bible in favor of an evolutionary timeline that, from their vantage point at least, is dominated by the most amazing creatures ever to have lived—the dinosaurs.”
Statement like that reminds me of the A-Team episode The Children of Jamestown where there was a mad preacher who ruled a church camp full of children with an iron fist before the A-Team came along and ended his "ministry" permanently, freeing the children along the way. The term “our children” implies that these creationists are using young earthism cloaked as Christian doctrine for their own ends and promote power and control over “their children.”
They then explain that if you ask any 10 year old about dinosaurs and whether or not they live alongside man, chances are that child will give you in the 2 creationists' words, “a puzzled look that is accompanied by a troubling frown.” To them, it's because,
“…we live in a world where our children are taught that dinosaurs evolved, and became extinct, millions and millions of years ago—long before man arrived on the scene.”
Like I said, there's truth to this statement. Otherwise we would find dinosaur remains dated to the time of the building of The Great Wall of China. But none are found.
The 2 then goes on to say,
“And so, those precious little souls march off to school, where they will learn about the “terribly great lizards”—completely unaware of the fact that what they are learning is thoroughly at odds with the biblical account of creation.”
*sighing sarcastically* Sad isn't it? These “precious little souls” get *waving two fingers* marched off *waving two fingers* to school where they will learn that everything the 2 creationist teach are all lies, told in the name of God, disguised as “ the biblical account of creation” as told in Genesis 1-2. This is the creationists' way of promoting senseless propaganda hype, claiming everything taught in schools concerning science is all bad while what the creationists teach, in their eyes, is all good despite not a single evidence has ever turned up to confirm their young earth dogma.
Young earth creationism is not Christian dogma. It's a religious cult heavily inspired by science fiction and its influence in pop culture. And the Seventh Day Adventists has all to do with it. It's not a mere statement or an opinion. It's a hard-core fact. The roots of young earth creationism is traced to Ellen G. White and her Seventh Day Adventist Christian Cult. And that's no lie.
The 2 creationists then went on to explain about how dinosaurs enthralled children and adults alike and then makes a hypocritical claim,
“From kindergarten through graduate school, dinosaurs frequently are used as a tool to indoctrinate students regarding the “fact” of organic evolution. In most public school, college, and university settings, whenever dinosaurs are discussed, it is in the context of their evolutionary origin, development, and extinction. Additionally, students are told about how the dinosaurs evolved into what we now know as birds.”
Exactly the same way creationists frequently use dinosaurs to do the very same thing they claim schools from kindergarten and graduate schools use. Only the real difference is that these schools educate children of dinosaurs. The only thing that do indoctrinate children is creationism with their constant emotional cries and rallies, statements constantly repeated like a broken record, distorted images repeatedly flashed again and again, big brother-style surveillance, and much more. The term “indoctrinate” used by creationists concerning the way schools handle the students and their learning falsely implies that public schools of all grade levels are just brainwashing mental institutions, just like Ken Ham's crackhouse, that only brainwash children the exact same way Hitler brainwash his followers, especially children, into following his ways prior to WWII.
The next paragraph falsely accuse “evolution-based teaching regarding dinosaurs” of pulling children away from the church and Christianity all together, using famous scientists, who have been fascinated with dinosaurs since childhood, who are also hapless victims of creationist quote-mining, as proof of their accusation. In a way, they are right <em>per se'</em>. Once the truth behind creationism is known after years and years are being forced fed of lies and deceit, those who fall for the false dilemma clap trap that teaches 'It's either God or goo. You cannot have both.' will fall away from God and become atheists. Not all become atheists, though. There are those who reject young earth creationism, and yet still obtain their Christian Faith, knowing that the unbiblically founded 'god or goo' dilemma is nothing but a empty scare tactic creationists invented to keep their followers in line.
For example, Robert Bakker accepts evolution, yet he maintains his Christian Faith and serves as a pastor at a Pentecostal Church. And Edward O. Wilson who accepts evolution and argues in his book, The Creation, that there should never be conflicts between science and religion since religion are a product of evolution that should never be abandoned nor rejected, but further investigated by science to better understand their significance to human nature.
This is something creationists would rather not bother to mention to their followers, lest they find their followers fall away to old earth creationism, progressive creationism, evolutionary creationism, and theistic evolution and lose their power over them in the process.
The next segment, Did Dinosaurs Really Exist?, is made to counter react with creationists who deny the existence of dinosaurs because to them, dinosaurs poses a major problem for their dogma and has find them extremely difficult to work into their religious dogma. This segment only gives the lowdown on where the fossils of dinosaurs are located at and gives out a brief history of the discovery of dinosaurs leading up to the “Bone Wars” of the Late 1800s' and the rival clashes between Othniel C. March and Edward D. Cope who both fought over who will find the most dinosaur fossils anywhere in the US.
The next segment, When Did Dinosaurs Exist?, all deals with blatant denial. Denial of the total lack of fossils of human and dinosaurs beside each other in the fossil record. Here the 2 creationists make believes that today, there are in their own words,
“..an important controversy exists between evolutionists and creationists regarding the matter of exactly when the dinosaurs lived.”
The reality is that the controversy is all based on the creationists' own denial and ignorance of the fossil record that's totally void of human and dinosaur fossil remains beside each other. To them, the Bible alone is the only “(make believe) inescapable conclusion” they made up to say that dinosaurs and humans living side by side at one point in time because according to their warped, distorted reasoning based on how they distort the Bible, all life were created in 6 normal 24-hour days and dinosaurs and humans were created at the same 6th day of the alleged Creation Week. So therefore men and dinosaurs live at the same time as long as they don't bump and smash into each other in an grossly over-crowded planet earth that would've existed if young earth is true and that all organisms were created at the same time on the 3rd, 5th, and 6th Day of Creation Week. But this kind of reasoning is greatly flawed because it still doesn't explain why any dinosaur and human bone mixtures are nowhere to be found in the fossil record.
Neither is their “evidences” they promote to further their claims about dinosaurs and man living together at one time in the next segment entitled, Evidence That Humans and Dinosaurs Co-existed, where it explains, or rather dodging the question to why we finding no dinosaurs and humans together in the fossil record. Much of what they promote is a direct example of creationists concluding them to be dinosaurs simply because they're shaped like one, never mind the details clearly saying they're not. These alleged “evidences” for their dogma all have the words “fabrications” and “hoaxes” written all over them, including the alleged rock drawing discovered by Samuel Hubbard, a museum curator, depicting a “dinosaur” (a distorted dinosaur painting, based on a painting of Edmontosaurus made by Neeve Parker, was made by Paul Taylor for his book and film The Great Dinosaur Mystery and the Bible is shown to falsely make it look as if it is exactly a dinosaur drawing carved on the wall while it's not.) that according to Adrienne Mayor's Fossil Legends and the First Americans, (pg. 337, 403 ) may have be nothing more than an attempt made by early fossil hunters to reconstruct fossil remains of plants and invertebrates found nearby the site where the alleged rock drawing was found. Otherwise in the Institute for Biblical and Scientific Studies website, Dr. Stephen Meyer took the rock drawing and compare it with the other rock drawing of birds made by Native American and concludes that the drawing depicts an eagle, a bird most sacred to the Native American Tribe living in the region.
Other so called evidences were also laid out to “confirm” their beliefs about dinosaurs living with humans recently such as their claims about dinosaurs and large mammals co-existing side by side using the discovery of Repenomamaus along with the alleged rock carving mentioned above to their advantage as “proof “ that dinosaurs and large mammals, such as elephants and giraffes, did exist while being ignorant of the fact that Repenomamus was a dog-size Triconodont, a left over from the Triassic age when Mammals first appeared alongside dinosaurs over 200 million years ago. It wasn't a modern mammal. Just like their human-dinosaur claim, the claim about dinosaurs and large mammals is also made out of ignorance of the fossils record that also completely void of dinosaur and Cenozoic and modern mammals mixed together in the fossil record.
How do creationists explain the complete lack of remains of elephants, goats, modern birds, Parasaurolophus, Dromiceomimus, and Brachiosaurus mixed together in the fossil record if what they depict on the cover of the book The Great Dinosaur Mystery and the Bible is true? How do creationists explain the total absence of dinosaur remains in the ruins of Babylon if what they claim about King Nebuchadnezzar keeping a “brontosaur” as a pet is true (Creationists made this claim up about the king keeping a dinosaur as a pet, concluding that the engravement made of a mythical monster named Sirrush found on a Babylonian gate, known as the Ishtar gate, must have been an alleged brontosaur that came from the Congo basin in Africa. The reality is that Sirrush is far from being a dinosaur, It had a cat-like body with a skinny tail, a snake face with a snake-like tongue, a curling crest, fore feet resembling cat paws and hind feet resembling a bird of prey or true raptors. According to Babylonian mythology, Sirrush was tamed by Tishpak who fought and subdued the beast, forcing it to serve as a bodyguard for all the Babylonian deities. Later on Marduk, the supreme god of the Babylonians, adopt the monster as his symbol and is featured on the Ishtar gate along with lions and aurochs that were also decorated on the gate as well.)? Answer: they can't! But that doesn't stop them from living in blatant denial of the fossil record that contains none of the evidence for all of their young earth claims.
In their warped reasoning, any monstrous, large reptile or giant bird depicted in ancient art and literature is a dinosaur or their Mesozoic contemporaries only because they're shaped like one, never mind the devil in the details that clearly says they're not. If it's large, scaly, and either reptilian-like or bird-like, then it must be a dinosaur or their Mesozoic contemporaries that once lived with people and modern animals at one time, never mind it being made up of modern animal composites such as feathers of a bird or a body of a snake which clearly says it's not at all a dinosaur, pterosaur, or a Mesozoic marine reptile. This kind of warped reasoning is all a direct result of distorting science fiction, mythology, and folklore in a feeble attempt to fit the fossil record into their strict distorted cult adherence to the Bible.
Other made up claims include the Ica stones fallacy, where creationists claims that a man named Javier Cabrera Darquea was given an etched rock for his birthday by his father, who got it from a farmer, who claims to have found what appeared to be over 11,000 stones, some with dinosaurs etched on them, in a cave in South America. They even tried to confirm their fallacy by inventing a story about Spanish Conquistadors coming back to Spain with some of the stones they took with them back to their homeland in the 1570s' after they conquered the Inca Empire. The story is half-true. What they really took back to Spain is authentic stones that contain zero traces of dinosaurs and advance technology etched on them and massive size bones of what they believe to be remains of giant-size humans that were destroyed in the biblical Flood, not knowing that the bones they took back to Spain were in fact mammoth or mastodon bones from the Pleistocene Epoch (Citations also from Mayor's Fossil Legends and the First Americans pg. 79). The stones containing dinosaurs and modern technology are all nothing but full-fledged forgeries recently invented in 1966 by the villagers who dug up the rocks out of their own backyard, engrave images of dinosaurs, humans, pyramids with telescopes, and other things they got from science fiction material, put them into a chicken coop and have the chickens make them appear old, invent stories about them, and sell them to gullible people who, once they first saw them, drool over these stones not knowing that the stones really are in fact forgeries made up by villagers, who got the idea to do this from finding fossil remains of Pleistocene mastodons and horses which they misidentified as “dinosaur bones.” (Citations from Mayor's Fossil Legends and the First Americans, too pg. 334-339)
And then, there is an alleged claim of petroglyph drawings a sauropod dinosaur and a pterosaur on the rock walls of the Kachina Bridge located in The Natural Bridges National Monument in Southeastern, Utah. These drawings, which I've mentioned before are nothing but Native American conceptions of a lizard and a bird.
The Acamboro figurines is the next thing the 2 creationists mentioned as part of their “evidence” of dinosaurs and humans together while being ignorant of the fact that these figurines are also forgeries made up by men who were paid by Waldemar Julsrud, the man who claimed to have found them, to create the clay figurines for profit and personal gain. This also was inspired by the discoveries of Pleistocene fossils wrongly identified as “dinosaur fossils” as well.
The next claim is an example of how creationists misuse dating methods to prove their dogma,
“In 1990, samples of various dinosaur bones were submitted for Carbon-14 dating to the University of Arizona’s department of geosciences’ laboratory of isotope geochemistry. Bones from an Allosaurus and an Acrocanthosaurus were among those sent to the university’s testing facilities to undergo a “blind” dating procedure (which means that the technicians performing the tests did not know that the bones had come from dinosaurs). Not realizing that the samples were from dinosaurs prevented “evolutionary bias,” and helped ensure that the results were as accurate as possible (within the recognized assumptions and limits of the C-14 dating method). We have in our possession—on the official stationery of the University of Arizona—a copy of the test results for the Allosaurus bones . Amazingly, the oldest C-14 date assigned to those bones was a mere 16,120 years (and only 23,760 years for the Acrocanthosaurus fossils; see Dahmer, et al., 1990). Both dates are a far cry from the millions of years that evolutionists suggest should be assigned to dinosaur fossils.”
There is a major flaw to this claim. The bones were handled carelessly by a team of excavators that actually came from the infamous Liberty University, a strong advocate of young earth idiocy.
From here— "The dating of Dinosaur bones is also way off. One was of an Allosaurus bone that was dug up by a team from Liberty University. Dr. Murray helped out with the excavation. Dr. [Arlton] Murray prepared the bones for Liberty University. Dr. Murray tried to explain to them that there was no organic carbon in the bones. The bones were completely fossilized. All the original organic material is replaced by other minerals. So what was tested was not the original carbon in the bones. Dr. Murray prepares and preserves bones with gum Arabic. I (Dr. Stephen C. Meyers) asked Hugh Miller about gum Arabic and he said he knew nothing about it. They might have mistaken gum Arabic for collagen."
Obviously the team didn't listen when Dr. Murray told them about the bones being completely fossilized and that all carbon materials were replaced by minerals. Instead they went ahead and used C14 to incorrectly date the fossil to be 16,000 years old and used this flawed conclusion to spread lies about the fossil and how unreliable dating methods are. Many creationist sites parade the claim not knowing that it's completely impossible for anyone to use carbon 14 to date a dinosaur fossil because they're too old. There is not one trace of carbon matter found inside and outside the fossil. It's all gone, replaced by minerals that seeped into the fossils over time. Carbon 14 is only used to date carbon matter up to 60,000 years— perfect for dating fossil remains of Neanderthals, mastodon, and other Ice Age mammals and man, but not dinosaur fossils. Dinosaur bones, because they're much older than 60,000 years, don't have carbon. They are completely fossilized. The carbon has decayed away and replaced by minerals. When creationists teach such denial and idiocy, it's apparent that they know completely nothing of how to handle dating methods right let alone how to handle fossils without contaminating it with human perspiration, perfumes, deodorants, and other carbon matter that would cause the fossil to be erroneously dated to the time of the Ice Age. To date the dinosaur bone, paleontologists use radioisotope dating methods including Potassium Argon, Uranium-235, and Argon/Argon which can accurately calculate the Allosaurus fossil to be about 150 million years old and the Acrocanthosaurus fossil to be about 100 million years old. And these are the correct age of both of these fossils each.
Note the key numbers – 16,120 and 23,760. Note how it's heavily contradicting the claims about dinosaurs fossils being the same age as the pyramids of Egypt and Stonehenge which is about 6,000 – 4,000 years old. And they say the earth is 6,000 years old and yet they claimed these fossils are over 10,000 years old.
*sarcasm* Congratulations, you guys! You just debunked your own myth about dinosaurs being 6,000 years old! *sarcasm*
The next claim is about a Greek vase depicting a warrior battling what creationists claim to be a dinosaur. Yet, the head of the Monster of Troy does not look like any dinosaur at all. The head of the monster resembles, not a living animal, but a skull probably of a Miocene giraffe that was made to make it look somewhat like a vicious sea monster. And yet creationists would like to make you think that this is a dinosaur while the head of the monster does not in fact match any dinosaur head ever known. The Monster of Troy is in fact just a mammalian skull poking out of a cliffside. According to Adrienne Mayor's book The First Fossil Hunters: Paleontology in Greek and Roman Times (pg. 157-165), the vase, painted in 560-540 BC was made at the same time The Spartans have announced a huge discovery of what they believe to be gigantic bony remains of the hero Orestes of Tegea (a country in Greece). Because of this, there was a great rush to find and unearth strange bones there were seen emerging all over the Aegean. The Homeric tale of The Monster of Troy took place at the same area where another part of the Legend tells about a pair of monsters emerging from the walls of the cliffs of the small island of Tenedos right across the sea from Sigeum, the place where the monster is said to appear on the Trojan Coast. That story in Greek Mythology depicted on the vase about Hercules killing the monster of Troy to save Hesione from its jaws was inspired by sightings of Cenozoic fossils peaking out of a cliffside, not at all a live dinosaur.
Here's another claim about human prints found alongside dinosaur prints. But this time, it's coming from Turkmenistan, Russia,
"Consider also that in 1983, researchers reported in the science and engineering news section of The Moscow News that they had discovered what appeared to be a human footprint in 150-million-year-old Jurassic rock, next to a giant, three-toed dinosaur footprint. The article stated: This spring, an expedition from the Institute of Geology of the Turkmen SSR Academy of Sciences found over 1,500 tracks left by dinosaurs in the mountains in the southeast of the Republic [Turkmen Republic—BH/BT]. Impressions resembling in shape a human footprint were discovered next to the tracks of prehistoric animals (see “Tracking Dinosaurs,” 1983, 24:10). Naturally, this report has received precious little attention, given the mindset of evolutionists."
Oh, but **One** evolutionist DID gave lots of attention to the prints and what he found is exactly no different than the tracks in Glen Rose, Texas. What he found is that the Russian prints, like the Paluxy prints, are in fact nothing more than elongated dinosaur prints that have been distorted over the years.
As mentioned, in their warped reasoning, any monstrous animal is a dinosaur only because of their shape. Never mind the devil in the details revealing what they really are. This kind of reasoning is no different when it comes to another warped reasoning of theirs – any large winged snake, with wings of a bird or a bat, or monstrous bird is a pterosaur regardless of its appearance. This kind of warped reasoning is displayed in the last part of their evidence section, where they gave out a list of fabrications they made up by twisting and distorting ancient writings to make them agree with their beliefs.
Here creationists quote mined 2 passages from 2 ancient historian books written by 2 Roman and Greek historians, Herodotus and Josephus who write about “winged serpents” that creationists falsely equate with pterosaurs out of ignorance of the "winged serpents" describing to have no limbs in each of the 2 men's writings.
The first passage creationists quote mined from is taken from Vol. 2 of Herodotus' <em>Historia</em> book series, where Herodotus wrote about the “winged serpents,” he saw while visiting the countries of Arabia and Egypt. There, what he did saw was possibly either bony remains of paradise tree snakes, modern animals of various shapes and sizes that has been washed ashore during spring floods, Spinosaurid fossils from the Cretaceous period that were unearthed and placed into shrines by the Egyptians as told in The First Fossil Hunters: Paleontology in Greek and Roman Times (pg. 135-136), or draco volans, flying lizards with elongated spines covered in skin which they use as wings when they glide in the air along the wind currents.
Here's the creationists' version of the passage,
"There is a place in Arabia…to which I went, on hearing of some winged serpents; and when I arrived there, I saw bones and spines of serpents, in such quantities as it would be impossible to describe. The form of the serpent is like that of a water-snake; but he has wings without feathers, and as like as possible to the wings of a bat."
Now here's the full in-context version of the passage coming from the 1904 version of Book II of Historia
"There is a region moreover in Arabia, situated nearly over against the city of Buto, to which place I came to inquire about the winged serpents: and when I came thither I saw bones of serpents and spines in quantity so great that it is impossible to make report of the number, and there were heaps of spines, some heaps large and others less large and others smaller still than these, and these heaps were many in number. This region in which the spines are scattered upon the ground is of the nature of an entrance from a narrow mountain pass to a great plain, which plain adjoins the plain of Egypt; and the story goes that at the beginning of spring winged serpents from Arabia fly towards Egypt, and the birds called ibises meet them at the entrance to this country and do not suffer the serpents to go by but kill them. On account of this deed it is (say the Arabians) that the ibis has come to be greatly honoured by the Egyptians, and the Egyptians also agree that it is for this reason that they honour these birds. 76. The outward form of the ibis is this:—it is a deep black all over, and has legs like those of a crane and a very curved beak, and in size it is about equal to a rail: this is the appearance of the black kind which fight with the serpents, but of those which most crowd round men's feet (for there are two several kinds of ibises) the head is bare and also the whole of the throat, and it is white in feathering except the head and neck and the extremities of the wings and the rump (in all these parts of which I have spoken it is a deep black), while in legs and in the form of the head it resembles the other. As for the serpent its form is like that of the watersnake; and it has wings not feathered but most nearly resembling the wings of the bat (My emphases in bold)."
Now, note the way creationists distort the accounts of Moses in Book II, Chapter 10 of Josephus' book The Antiquities of The Jews,
"When the ground was difficult to be passed over, because of the multitude of serpents (which it produces in vast numbers…some of which ascend out of the ground unseen, and also fly in the air, and do come upon men at unawares, and do them a mischief)….
[Moses] made baskets like unto arks, of sedge, and filled them with ibes [i.e., birds], and carried them along with them; which animal is the greatest enemy to serpents imaginable, for they fly from them when they come near them; and as they fly they are caught and devoured by them."
Now here's the full in-context version of it,
"But Moses prevented the enemies, and took and led his army before those enemies were apprized of his attacking them; for he did not march by the river, but by land, where he gave a wonderful demonstration of his sagacity; for when the ground was difficult to be passed over, because of the multitude of serpents, (which it produces in vast numbers, and, indeed, is singular in some of those productions, which other countries do not breed, and yet such as are worse than others in power and mischief, and an unusual fierceness of sight, some of which ascend out of the ground unseen, and also fly in the air, and so come upon men at unawares, and do them a mischief,) Moses invented a wonderful stratagem to preserve the army safe, and without hurt; for he made baskets, like unto arks, of sedge, and filled them with ibes, (23) and carried them along with them; which animal is the greatest enemy to serpents imaginable, for they fly from them when they come near them; and as they fly they are caught and devoured by them, as if it were done by the harts; but the ibes are tame creatures, and only enemies to the serpentine kind: but about these ibes I say no more at present, since the Greeks themselves are not unacquainted with this sort of bird."
This came from a chapter that tells about Moses as a young man leading the Egyptian Army against the Ethiopian Army whom Moses and his forces were able to defeat in battle - and this is long before he became the famous Biblical Moses who led his out of Egypt as told in the book of Exodus.
These 2 passages are misused by creationists who falsely brand pterosaurs as “winged serpents” out of ignorance of the Pterosaurs' true anatomy which in no way resemble snakes, especially “watersnakes with bat-wings” that have no limbs unlike pterosaurs that have only 4 limbs. Any dinosaur fanatic like me knows all too well that pterosaurs have gorilla-like hairy bodies with short legs and extremely long arms, bird-like heads, hair, and one elongated 4th finger each supporting their wings made out of skin.
The final claim contains a quote taken out of context from an old vintage book entitled Strange Prehistoric Animals and Their Stories by A. Hyatt Verrill who, in one part of the book, tells about a discovery he made while exploring the ruins of an ancient temple in Panama where the Cocle', an ancient Central American civilization, once flourished in from 1330 to 1520 AD. What he found were pottery decorated with bird-like images of what he believes to be “realistic” depictions of 'pterodactyls' creationists would like to make believe they were based on seeing live pterosaurs at one time in consistent with the other 2 alleged sightings mentioned in the article. But that's not what Verrill wrote about in his book. When put in full context, we find that Verrill was only describing these drawings and concludes that these creatures were made based on early sightings of just pterosaur fossils, not live pterosaurs. However, according to Mayor (pg. 97-99 in Fossil Legends and the First Americans, again), the drawings including this one..
…might represent another animal known only from fossils since the drawings in some cases depicts no teeth in their jaws and various number of toes on each foot. The “crests” on their heads look more like deer-type antlers and the wings appear to be nothing more than just arms bending backwards with only 2 curved separately arranged claws on each side. Pterosaurs only had 4 fingers on each wing, beak-like jaws, and a hairy gorilla-like body.
In the end, the 2 creationists continuously deny the absence of dinosaur and human remains mixed together in the fossil record and claims that God created dinosaurs alongside man and concludes,
“Today, we still stand amazed at these awesome giants. And as we do, their presence in the past should remind us of the magnificence of the God Who was able to speak them into existence by “the word of His power” (Hebrews 1:3). Awesome creatures—from the hand of an awesome Creator.”
We should be amazed at these giants (Actually be amazed at dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes), but at the same time be also appalled by the way creationists are compulsively lying about dinosaurs especially in the face of valid evidence in both the historical, scientific, and fossil records pointing to the exact opposite.
