Dinosaurs are the most mysterious of all creatures. All we have out of them is their fossils. They left behind them when they died out 65 million years ago. Even though, we know so much about dinosaurs, there is much, much more to them that we don't know about including what color the dinosaurs were and what sounds did they made.
Unfortunately, "Answers" in Genesis own Ken Ham, always hellbent on brainwashing Christians into believing all his stupid lies, thinks he can solve the mystery of the dinosaurs by resorting to outright falsehoods, hate, and slander. At one time, he helped John Morris published a book for little children called What Really Happened to the Dinosaurs (1990). Then he published another pseudo-dinosaur book called D is for Dinosaur: A Rhyme Book and More (1991). Both are worthless pseudo-dinosaur propaganda books plastered with cartoon-style dinosaurs made to take advantage of the children's unrelenting love for dinosaurs and target them. Especially the preschool types who love and go ga-ga over the dinosaurs. Then Ham published this book for older teens and young adults called The Great Dinosaur Mystery Solved [NOT!] (1998) which is nothing more than a propaganda book that cares nothing of dinosaurs. Rather it contains nothing but demagogic rants (a lot of times written in all caps), stupid lies, scapegoats, red herring arguments, and pseudo-dinosaurs thrown in there to attract children and adults who love dinosaurs to it like spiders using corpse-scented webs to attract flies. It features illustrations made up by Dan Lietha, a comic strip artist who illustrated the pseudo-dinosaurs found in the book. His comics are circulated in many young earth extremist sites such as Jesus, Dinosaurs, and More. However, there are websites like Freethought and Rationalism Discussion Board which took many of Lietha's comics and made parodies of them to debunk the claims made in the comics. Of course, those who did the parodies were accused by AiG of infringing on Lietha's copyrights. And yet, AiG, the one who threatened to sue FFDB forums for infringing on Lietha's copyright, turned around and infringe on other people's copyrights themselves! Such Hypocrisy, thinking they can get away with doing illegal things they whine about when someone else do the exact thing on them!
As a matter of fact, this book is really the unabridged version of Chapter 12 of Ham's second manifesto, The Answers Book. Just like The Answers Book, it contains the same old recycled falsehoods, distortions, hate-mongering, and idiotic claims with last sections reserved for more hate mongering rants, out of context quotes, and outright slander.
Cover Description
To start the rebuttal off, the front cover shows Lietha's inaccurate image of a Tyrannosaur head shown covering almost the entire cover. On the back cover, there is one image depicting a pseudo-pliosaur made to depict Leviathan, a fish monster of Jewish folklore, 2 photos of Buddy Davis' dinosaur caricatures, and some actual photo images of dinosaur and marine reptile skeletons taken from the Black Hills Institute in South Dakota. On top shows a book review that claims this is a dinosaur book like you've never seen before. In reality, this book is not a dinosaur book, but a propaganda book plastered with demagogic rants and Hollywood caricatures of dinosaurs no different than what is seen in The Great Dinosaur Mystery and the Bible, Dinosaurs by Design, and Dinosaurs and the Bible. This book claims to teach people the so-called true (word in bold capitalized letters.) history of the earth and its inhabitants that never was, thus leading your thinking to never be the same again.
Your thinking will still be the same once you see that this is not a book about dinosaurs, but a propaganda book only containing demagogic rants, with some words written large capitol letters as if the text are yelling at you in front of your face, indoctrinations, outright vicious slander, extreme idiocy, claims worth a billion laughs, Hollywood caricatures of dinosaurs, and outright hypocrisy. The book claims it's made for people 13 year old and older and a perfect book for your family library. Actually, this is a perfect book to be used for animal bedding than to have it in your personal library. There is a paperback version out with a different cover on it. This cover depicts a silhouette of the inaccurately drawn T.rex. Inside, the images are made in black and white while images in the hard cover version are shown in full color. This is the only difference between the two. Otherwise, both versions contains the very same ol' crap that have been debunked time and time again.
Acknowledgments From Ham
Page 3 in the book contains a word of thanks to all those who helped published the book, which of course is made up of his cronies. One of them is his brother, a fundamentalist pastor who's no different than his brother when it comes to engaging in demagogic rants and outright ignorance.
Ham's So-Called Appendixes
Page 6 shows the intro, telling the reader about what the book has in it and how it is divided up into Appendixes— proof that this book is falsely portrayed as a science book. Appendix A contains out-of-context quotes taking from authentic dinosaur literature, blatant lies, old unreliable literature many centuries old, and empty creationism "theories" about dinosaurs which are nothing more than made up falsehoods coming from other forms of creationist literature and out-of-context Bible verses distorted to fit in with Ham's beliefs. And Appendix B, contains only a list of real dinosaur books which Ham does a lot of quote mining from— many outdated by decades.
Ham, in the book, attempts to indoctrinate readers by demonstrating "..that when one takes the fabricated events made up based on our Bible distortions, as well as the false doctrines of Christianity we made up that's all centered around Genesis 1-11 which we distort, then the entire way of ignorance can be applied to none of the areas of the created universe." (my response in bold.)
No Such Time Line
Ham thinks True Christianity starts with the time-line history as given in scripture. Only in some annotated copies of the King James Version of the Bible do we find such a time line invented in 1654 by Archbishop James Usher who calculated the Earth to be created in 4004 BC on October 23rd at 8:00PM. Otherwise, there is no such time-line ever found in the Bible, not even in the original text. Ham also thinks when one person understands this, the reader will find it easy to give out many answers to a variety of questions, including dinosaurs. It doesn't and he knows it. There is in fact no understanding and reasoning in Creation— Bible distortions and all. Just lies, falsehoods, slander, and hate mongering. No honest answers, no logical reasoning, no valid evidence, nothing. Ham asserts that once the reader has read through this book and understands its approach, the reader will apply the same reasoning in other areas. The truth is that there is nothing in Creation to apply to in life. No reasoning or understanding at all. Just one denial and slanderous, hate mongering after another.The only answers the readers are encouraged to give out from this book is all false, dishonest answers that solves not a dang thing. The Bible is not "the history book of the universe" It's something Ham entirely made up to propagate ignorance and hatred towards any other forms of literature whether religious and historical that clearly rejects his religious rants, and to display his lack of knowledge towards Bible history according to physical evidence that rejects his loud, pompous bibliolatry. Page 7 tells about who else, but Ham himself. No big deal.
Hypocrisy
Next page 9 asks this following question, "What Happened to the Dinosaurs?" Answer: A meteorite killed them. That's what happened. But nope, Ham won't buy it. He instead resorts to stupidity and ignorance by stating that evolution and dinosaurs go hand and hand. So what? There are great numbers of scientific evidence that's out there pointing to such a concept. Ham, however, would rather have his pompous rants and dinosaurs go hand and hand regardless of how these 2 subjects don't fit worth a dang hoot.
In every writings of his, Ham would make all sorts of hypocritical accusations such as what is made at the start of his idiot book,
"Dinosaurs are used more than almost anything else to indoctrinate children and adults in the idea of millions of years of earth history."
This statement has the word "hypocrisy" written all over it because this is made by a man who does the exact same thing by littering his crackhouse ("museum") with Hollywood caricatures of dinosaurs inside and out in hopes of luring gullible children and families to his crackhouse to get proselytized into embracing the myth of thousands of years of earth history. Every advertisement, every merchandise, every crackhouse promo features a dinosaur or two plastered all over as bait to lure gullible people, including dinosaur-loving children, to his house of lies.
He knows all too well that dinosaurs sell and is highly aware of the fact that children are suckers for dinosaurs. This enables him to use this as his advantage and plastered every part of his crackhouse, merchandise, and promos with dinosaurs to lure people, especially children most of all, to his crackhouse so he can proselytize them into believing in such remarks as,
"However, the Bible gives us a framework for explaining dinosaurs in terms of thousands of years of history, including the mystery of when they lived and what happened to them."
Which translates to,
"However, what I say gives us a framework for explaining dinosaurs in terms of thousands of years of history, including the mystery of when they lived and what happened to them."
The next segment claims that unlike evolutionists who accepts "millions of years,"
"There is no mystery surrounding dinosaurs if you accept the Bible's totally different account of dinosaur history."
Which translates to,
"There is no mystery surrounding dinosaurs if you accept my totally different account of dinosaur history."
The Bible is neutral on dinosaurs, evolution, and the age of the earth and he knows it. He simply refuses to admit it or else he loses his followers and their cash to reality. Instead, he falsely declares, as before, that the Bible can be used to explain dinosaurs in a concept of thousands of years and solve the mystery of when they lived and what happened to them. He deliberately states this out of pure ignorance of the bible having nothing to explain and nothing to solve about the mystery of dinosaurs.
The Bible has absolutely nothing to solve and explain about dinosaurs, age of the Earth, evolution, and everything else of science. So,using the Bible to explain dinosaurs and solve mysteries of them is absolutely worthless.
Ham invokes Colossians 2:3 to justify his falsehoods which it says "in whom (Christ) are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." When put into full context, the verse actually refers to Paul encouraging the readers embrace the "full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,.." who has in Him all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge in hopes of not being deceived by "fine-sounding arguments" coming from the likes of Gnosticism. It does not have anything to do with Ham and all his stupid lies.
No Mystery to Ham's Ignorance
Next Ham asked the question "Are dinosaurs a mystery?" Dinosaurs are a mystery regardless of whether one believes Ham's lie or the so falsely called "lies evolutionists tell." No one, not even the most ancient of people, has ever seen a live dinosaur (except birds). So, no one knows what were the dinosaurs really like when they were alive. No one knows how the dinosaurs behave, let alone what colors the dinosaurs were. No one knows what kinds of sound the dinosaurs made (I remembered the time when I used to look at an issue of Creation Ex Nihlio magazine and saw a small article that claims that Tyrannosaurus Rex never really made a sound like what it made in the movie Jurassic Park, but instead made a sound very similar to that of a growling tummy. Bothered over that one, yet I knew off the bat that the claim is pathetically stupid, fraudulent, and made out of ignorance of the fact that voice larynxs don't fossilize and the sound the T.rex made in the movie is all made up by a team of special effects artists who worked to make Jurassic Park into a real scary movie. Such lunacy!) and above all, no one knows for sure why did the dinosaurs died out.
Ham thinks the dinosaurs are only a mystery when it comes to the evolutionary "story." It makes no difference. Dinosaurs have been and always will be a mystery whether one believes Ham's false story or not. He then gives out the normal version of dinosaur history and compares that with his false version of dinosaur history. Despite what he claims, there is nothing biblical about the earth being created 6,000 years ago at the time of the Egyptian Predynastic era and the construction of Stonehenge.
There also nothing biblical about the concept of the supposed evolutionary story being made up of millions of years of death, bloodshed, disease, and suffering because such concepts of millions of years of death, bloodshed, disease, and suffering were invented by creationists after watching to many prehistoric films depicting prehistoric monsters and cavemen constantly fighting and killing each other just for kicks.
Scientists have unearthed fossils of dinosaurs with diseases, teeth marks, and other forms of injuries on them. But that doesn't necessary mean there was millions of years of unending wars, violence, death, bloodshed, disease, and suffering. The reality is that the Fossil record is almost void of what Ham thinks the record contains. Only a tad few cases of death struggles among dinosaurs has ever been found, and yet Ham is making it as if the Fossil record is entirely made up of such cases while it's not. In this section Ham simply claims that God created everything to reproduce after their own kind. However, did you know that when creationists like Ham claims that the supposed original creatures were created to reproduce after their own kind, they are actually advocating their own version of evolution? The very same thing they claim for it to be a lie is the very same thing they are advocating in their talks. What a bunch of hypocrites! Otherwise, what the creationists have in mind is for animals to behave like cloning machines, always reproducing monotonous carbon copy of themselves.
Human/Dinosaur Falsehood
There were no humans living at the time of the dinosaurs. But according to Ham's lying falsehood, dinosaurs were created the same day Adam and Eve were created, thus leading to the false conclusion that man and dinosaurs lived at the same time. This infamous claim is said out of sheer ignorance of the fact that the passage of God creating man after God created the animals in Genesis 1 contradicts Genesis 2 that says man was created before God created the animals. Plus, if all animals were created at the same time, the world would have been a massively over-crowded place. Plus, there is no evidence for dinosaur and human co-existence in all parts of fossil, historical, biblical, and archaeological records. This pose major problems associating with their dino-human claim, so to work around this, creationists like Ham use their imaginations and pretend that the reason why there are no dinosaurs and humans together in the fossil record is because they're not buried together - or so they assume.
That explanation don't really explain why are there no modern animals found alongside extinct animals such as Dimetrodon, Trilobites, Eohippus (Hyracotherium), Ornithosuchus, and Brontoscorpio and why are there no modern forms of plants are found alongside extinct forms of plants and why are there certain types of extinct animals found each exclusively in a certain rock strata and none elsewhere. If all organisms living and extinct lived at the same time, like what Ham and the rest of the young earthers wants everyone to believe and accept, then the world would be a completely over-crowded place with no room to move around at all.
If young earth is true and dinosaurs (of non avian types) did lived with humans even in remote places of the world today, we would have seen evidence of dinosaurs roaming around in zoos as well as be seen in all valid ancient records of all types also as well as remains of dinosaurs found mixed with remains of all humans plants and animals of the past and present in all layers top to bottom. But none have been found.
4,500 years ago, Egypt underwent a special project of building one of most spectacular of ancient structures— the Pyramids, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. And all throughout that time, no accounts of having them using dinosaurs for their projects, nor being force to call it quits when a wall of water comes their way has ever been found despite Ham assertions of Noah's flood occurring at that time.
If there was such a world after the flood, then we would find dinosaurs roaming the time of the Roman Empire and the War of the Roses. But none are found. What creationists use to promote false evidences of dinosaurs being dragons told in legends is made up of only out-of-context, fabricated, distorted medieval text and ancient art depicting humans, mythical monsters, and artist conception of modern animals. With these false evidences spread out in the book, Ham hopes to convince the reader that there is no mystery about dinosaurs. When it comes to Ham's dogma, there is indeed no mystery about dinosaurs— just blatant, stupid lies and nothing else.
The Difference
"Why are the views so different?" is the next question being asked on page 11. I'll answer that. According to SkepticWiki and PZ Myers, it's not that the creationists and the evolutionists are seeing the same thing, yet have different point of views about them whether their presuppositions is of he Bible or The Origins of Species, it's just that the evolutionists are looking at physical evidence to explain things while creationists are only looking at as Skepticwiki puts it, "..a bunch of silly lies that they read in some creationist pamphlet or website." Now that's definitely the difference between the 2 parties, one looks at hardcore evidence while the other looks at what they themselves imagined up while uselessly probing the Bible for explanations not found in there for anything from dinosaurs to hurricanes.
Ham used this point of view tripe in his crackhouse through a racial display set up to make the visitors have an impression that the white Old Testament man stereotype, worthlessly using the Bible to explain an inaccurately built dinosaur fossil being unearthed that's erroneously said to be dated 300 million years ago, along with the black man stereotype, who is just looking at the fossil not caring about what the old testament stereotype is claiming to say, are both looking at the fossil, yet each carry a different point of view about it. The real difference is that the creationists are not actually looking at the fossil at all because they knew that if they look at an actual fossil in all the details, they will clearly find something that will deliberately shaken, even destroy their beliefs. So they focus only on what they, especially Henry Morris, made up from their heads while shunning the actual evidence pointing to the exact opposite.
Ham thinks scientists have only fossils to help explain dinosaurs. True, but what the question scientists are allegedly asking each other about the fossils and what scientists are really asking each other about the fossils is two different things. Unlike Ham's assertions, paleontologists, in reality, make fossil discoveries and uncover fossil evidence while either going on expeditions to certain areas or engaging in laboratory study. The discoveries made by the scientists cause them to ask questions about what they have discovered. Then, they begin to sought answers to questions made based on what they have discovered and come up with logical theories to help explain things based on evidence they found.
Ham and others, on the other hand, only invent lies and false stories. That's it! This is the real difference between the deluded young earth extremists and real scientists. Ham, as hubris as ever, says that no scientist has ever lived through all of earth's history. Neither has Ham and the other creationists themselves. What difference does it make?
