This article, from Ken Ham's idiot site is entitled God's Majestic Giants, which discusses about one of Mesozoic Era's most majestic of all dinosaurs, the sauropods. Here's the illustration made by Jon Taylor as shown in the article.
Nothing wrong with that. Just 2 sauropods standing, browsing, and wallowing along the edge of a large river. But, there's only one thing wrong with the image. Note how what appears to be Diplodocids being shown wallowing almost knee deep in the water with their tails dragging along the river floor. This is an old classic depiction of Sauropod dinosaurs as seen in countless vintage dinosaur books in the past, but no one who are experts in sauropods accepts this view anymore.
Today it is now known that Diplodocids spend all their time on land and their tails are now known to be held up in the air for balance since dinosaur foot tracks show no signs of tail dragging marks along side them.
The article is written by Mike Riddle who only got bachelors degree in mathematics, have been a US soldier in the Marine Corp, claims to have masters in education, and is a U.S. national track-and-field pentathlon champion. But there is nothing in his background that tells him that he's a paleontologist! Not even a certified one! So obviously, his relies only on what he got from dinosaur materials outdated by decades.
In his article, even as he explains away the Sauropod dinosaurs, one can easily tell how much he knows about sauropods - not very much.
The first part of his article reads like this,
"Based on what we have found so far in the fossil record, sauropods were likely the largest family of land creatures ever to walk the earth. Weighing as much as 100 tons (91 m. tons), they shook the ground and soared to heights of 138 ft (42 m). These amazing “long necks” include all the four-footed, plant-eating dinosaurs, such as Diplodocus, Brachiosaurus, and Apatosaurus. But how much do we really know about them?"
Note in the gray square do we see a small list of 3 well known sauropods with short descriptions on them. Note how Riddle is wrong about Diplodocus,
"This was the smallest of sauropods, largely because its bones were mostly hollow."
Doesn't he know about dwarf-size dinosaurs such as Magyarosaurus and Europasaurus? Apparently no, he doesn't.
He then goes on about what scientists have learned about sauropods over the years by first explaining about how decades ago, people used to think that because of their huge size, sauropods were probably swamp dwelling dinosaurs, spending nearly all of their lives standing up to their armpits in water, eating only soft water weeds. But in the 1970s', that idea changed. Scientists, studying the sauropod fossils, discovered that Sauropods were not what people thought they were due to their anatomy being ill-equipped for an amphibious life-style. Nowadays, it is now known that Sauropods spend nearly all their lives on land, raking in leafy plants into their mouths to help satisfy their huge appetites.
He then went on to try to explain the mystery of how did these monstrosities grow so big in comparison with reptiles and some animals like the elephant and states,
"Comparing bones of juvenile dinosaurs, some scientists now believe that dinosaurs experienced rapid growth in their youth and then continued slow growth the rest of their lives. If dinosaurs lived hundreds of years, as people did before the Flood, they had plenty of time to develop into the enormous creatures we find in the fossil record. In fact, many of these dinosaurs may be the original creatures that God created on Day 6 of Creation Week."
Only an idiot will believe that! Riddle made it up entirely without any bases of fact, truth, and out of sheer ignorance of the fact that Sauropods grew from hatchling to adult in a matter of 10-12 years and has been estimated to live to only be roughly 100 years old if they're lucky to survive. Sauropods first appeared during the Late Triassic Period and begin to greatly diversified into the Jurassic Period. They survived throughout the Cretaceous Period before finally dying out alongside other non-avian dinosaurs at the end of the Mesozoic Era. The rest of the article gives out the usual young earth vomit to feebly attempt to explain the sauropod dinosaurs and their history. Riddle, misquoting from The Natural History Museum Book of Dinosaurs, claims,
"No known process of change could derive them from any other known organism, and no evidence of such change is found in the fossil record."
He's lying along with denying the existence of sauropod transitional forms, such as Thecodontosaurus, Melanorosaurus, and Anchisaurus. These dinosaurs all came from a lineage that gave rise to the Sauropods of the Jurassic and Cretaceous Periods.
He then claims,
"Yet one source of information provides the missing clues about the origin and demise of dinosaurs—God’s eyewitness account of earth history, the Bible. It tells when all the land animals were created, and it describes the largest mass destruction of animals in earth history. Every kind of land animal was created on Day 6 of Creation Week, and God sent a Flood that wiped out every air-breathing land animal on earth, except for the few that survived on Noah’s Ark."
The source in invalid. Get this in your head: Claiming the Bible as "God's eyewitness account of earth history" when it comes to dinosaurs, fossils, and the age of the Earth, especially in the face of all the fossil and historical records revealing to us the exact opposite of what the so-called eyewitness account claims, is an act of total blasphemy and sacrilegious. Creationists like Riddle commit acts of blasphemy and sacrilege when they regard God and His Word, the Bible, as only an eyewitness account to the past and yet the fossil record reveals the exact opposite of what the creationists claim about the earth's past. Thus, making the Bible into a false, unreliable eyewitness account from God, whom they claimed to never lie, yet has deceived people into believing in a world that have never existed time and time again. If that's not total blasphemy, I don't know what it is.
Creationists also contradicts the Bible, too! Riddle's no exception,
"The Ark easily had room for the dinosaurs (as you can see in other articles in this issue). First, the Ark was the size of a huge cargo ship (at least 450 ft (137 m) long). Second, there weren’t many different kinds of dinosaurs (only about 50 “kinds”). Third, God most likely brought the smaller juvenile dinosaurs, not the aging adults, because they would be better suited for the voyage and the responsibilities of reproducing rapidly after the Flood."
These claims is clock full of flaws and contradictions. First off, Noah, at God command, was supposed to take up into the ark one pair and seven pairs of all animals, not just the basics. The claim about the only 50 kinds of dinosaurs tripe is nothing but a flawed loophole creationists made up in an attempt to deal with the problems associating with fitting worldwide mass diversities of animals, past and present, into a small 450x75x45 boat, including over 600 different types of dinosaurs and still growing! Creationists are making it as if Noah only took up only Magyarosaurus and Europasaurus into the ark while leaving Apatosaurus and Brachiosaurus to perish in the Flood, which greatly goes up against what the Bible says about what Noah was to take up into the ark as told in Genesis 6:19-20. The juvenile dinosaurs tripe greatly contradicts God's command for Noah to bring up into the ark sexually matured adult animals only ("a male as his mate") as told in Genesis 7:2-3. Juveniles in most cases would not survive without being dependent on their mothers for protection and learning experience. Even if he did took up only babies inside the ark, which still contradicts God's Command for him to bring adults only up on board the ark. Noah will still have to deal with problems associated with care and feeding, exercise, disease, maintenance, and ventilation of all those animals in the ark.
Riddle then concludes,
"While some scientists study sauropods and make evolutionary conclusions as to the origin and probable extinction of these majestic creatures, Christians must never compromise the clear teaching found in the history book of the universe, the Bible."
In other words, Christians, according to Riddle's dictatorial ways, must be ignorant and blasphemously rely only on the Bible for non-existant answers to everything about the Earth's History, science, and the fossil record regardless of the valid evidence pointing to the exact opposite of what the young earth dogma teaches.
Proof that Creationists exercise dictatorship upon even Christians. Never mind that what Christians must do and what Christians really must do is 2 different things. What Christians really must do is totally reject young earth dictatorship because it contradicts the Bible, harbor ignorance, hate, and fear mongering, that it's ok to lie for God despite what the Bible says about it (Job 13:7-11), and most of all, commit acts of blasphemy and sacrilege by making God into a liar when by claiming He says one thing while the actual evidences and true eyewitnesses and testimonies - all valid - points to the other.
