As a Christian, I believe the Bible to be the infallible Holy Word of God. I believe the Bible to be true and flawless. It is perfect in every way like Mary Poppins, even though I can not deny the fact that there are indeed a lot of passages that conflict with one other, passages that don't make sense if taken too literally, and passages that contain content that's not suitable for children and sensitive people.
And the way creationists deal with the Bible is entirely blasphemous. It is highly evident that creationists don't follow the Bible. They only follow parts of the Bible that suit their own means. Every time they make statements such as, “The Bible is true; The Bible is God's Word;” and “God's Word is infallible,” it all clearly translate to, “My word is true; The Bible is my word; My word is infallible;” and so on. This is exactly what those phrases translates to every time Ken Ham, his Answers in Genesis cranks, and other YEC cranks says things like “The Bible is flawless.” in their writings as well as in other forms of media. All creationists who believe in the 6,000 year lie says such things like that to get even most devoted of Christians to follow their satanic teachings. Sometimes, just because a religions doctrine speaks the language of Christians doesn't mean it comes from the mouth of God.
Not long ago, Ham updated his crappy The Answers Book to feature the usual tripe that's nothing really new at all. Every part of his book contains the usual of stupid lies, false deceit, sugar coated Bible phrases, bigotry, slander, and minced Christian language. I will only debunk the dinosaur chapters chock load of his crap from his book and those chapters all have to do with dinosaurs and how Ham deals with them his own power-hungry way. As you're about to see, Ham's ways is no different than the ways of all other creationists who shares the same ideas he has about dinosaurs.
The Answers Book is in fact his second young earth manifesto. A supplement to his first manifesto, The Lie: Evolution in which he first spreads out one stupid lie after another about every scientific subject that don't agree to his views on life, religion, morality, history and others. Like what he teaches in his crackhouse, in a format no different than the teachings of Jim Jones, David Koresh, Paul Hill, Adolph Hitler, Lloyd Goodwin, Charles Manson, and other corrupt church leaders of all types, every saying he makes such as, “The Bible makes sense and is overwhelmingly confirmed by observable science,” all translates to “I [Ham] make sense and is overwhelmingly confirmed by observable science.” Thus leading to this conclusion— According to Ham, “God's word is MY word; I [Ken Ham] am what I [Ken Ham] am;” and “My [Ham's] word is the Bible.”
It's extremely ironic that creationists say to observe and study science and The Bible with an open heart and mind, yet turn around and do the exact opposite by observing the bible and science with a blind heart and close mind. It isn't really just ironic, but hypocrisy as well.
In every writings of his, Ham would make all sorts of hypocritical accusations such as what is made at the start of his idiot article,
“Dinosaurs are used more than almost anything else to indoctrinate children and adults in the idea of millions of years of earth history.”
This entire statement has the word "hypocrisy" written all over it because this is made by a man who does the exact same thing by littering his crackhouse with dinosaurs inside and out in hopes of luring children and gullible families to his crackhouse to get proselytized into embracing the idea of thousands of years of earth history. Every advertisement, every merchandise, every crackhouse promo features a dinosaur or two plastered all over them as bait to lure gullible people, including dinosaur-loving children, to his house of lies.
He knows all too well that dinosaurs sell and is highly aware of the fact that children are suckers for dinosaurs. Thus, enabling him to use this as his advantage and plastered every part of his crackhouse, merchandise, and promos with dinosaurs to lure people, especially children most of all, to his crackhouse so he can proselytize them into believing in such remarks as,
“However, the Bible gives us a framework for explaining dinosaurs in terms of thousands of years of history, including the mystery of when they lived and what happened to them.”
Which translates to,
“However, what I say gives us a framework for explaining dinosaurs in terms of thousands of years of history, including the mystery of when they lived and what happened to them.”
The next segment claims that unlike evolutionists who accepts “millions of years,”
“There is no mystery surrounding dinosaurs if you accept the Bible’s totally different account of dinosaur history.”
Which translates to,
“There is no mystery surrounding dinosaurs if you accept my totally different account of dinosaur history.”
Dinosaurs are a mystery regardless of whether one believes Ham's idiotic foolishness or the so-called “lies evolutionists tell.” No one, not even the most ancient of people, has ever seen a live dinosaur. So, no one knows what were the dinosaurs really like when they were alive. No one knows how the dinosaurs behave, let alone what colors the dinosaurs were. No one knows what kinds of sound the dinosaurs made and above all, no one knows for sure why did the dinosaurs died out. I remembered the time when I used to look at an issue of the formally Creation Ex Nihlio magazine and saw a small article that claims that Tyrannosaurus Rex never really made a sound like what it made in the movie Jurassic Park (Sorry, folks. There won't be anymore Jurassic Park. The franchise seemed to have gone extinct as confirmed here but rumors has it that there will be Jurassic Park IV in the making after all despite what's going on pertaining to the death of Michael Crichton), but instead made a sound very similar to that of a growling tummy. The claim is so pathetically stupid and fraudulent. Especially when the claim is made out of ignorance of the fact that voice larynxs don't fossilize and the sound the T.rex made in the movie is all made up by a team of special effects artists who worked to make The Jurassic Park Trilogy into a real scary movie. Such lunacy!
So, according to Ham's version of the Bible, dinosaurs were created the same day Adam and Eve were created, thus leading to the false conclusion that man and dinosaurs lived at the same time. This infamous claim is said out of sheer ignorance of the fact that there no evidence for dinosaur and human co-existence in all the fossil, historical, biblical, and archaeological records. This pose major problems associating with their dino-human claim, so to work around this, creationists like Ham use their imaginations and pretend that the reason why there are no dinosaurs and humans together in the fossil record is because they're not buried together – or so they imagined.
That explanation does not really explain why are there no modern animals found alongside extinct animals such as Dimetrodon, Trilobites, Eohippus (Hyracotherium), Ornithosuchus, and Brontoscorpio and why are there no modern forms of plants are found alongside extinct forms of plants and why are there certain types of extinct animals found each exclusively in a certain rock strata and none elsewhere. If all organisms living and extinct lived at the same time, like what Ham and the rest of the young earthers wants everyone to believe and accept, then the world would be a completely over-crowded place with no room to move around at all.
Ham also claims,
“Dinosaurs could not have died out before people appeared because dinosaurs had not previously existed; and death, bloodshed, disease, and suffering are a result of Adam’s sin."
Rather dinosaurs could not have lived alongside people because no such scenario has ever existed; and “death, bloodshed, disease, and suffering” are all ad hoc words creationists made up by twisting the 4 Bible verses, which only refers to human suffering, not animal suffering, to get the Bible to say what they want it to say after watching too many dinosaur movies that depict dinosaurs and other prehistoric beings being brainless savages who go about fighting and killing each other just for kicks.
The next segment claims,
"Representatives of all the kinds of air-breathing land animals, including the dinosaur kinds, went aboard Noah’s Ark. All those left outside the Ark died in the cataclysmic circumstances of the Flood, and many of their remains became fossils.”
In other words, Noah took up only Kodiak bears and left the other bears types, living and extinct, to die in the Flood. He took up Asian elephants and left the other elephant types, living and extinct, to die in the Flood. He took up only Magyarosaurus and left all other sauropods to die in the flood. He took up only Dalmatians and left all other dog “kind” to die in the flood. He took up only tigers and left all other big cats to die in the Flood. The list goes on and on. This is a direct example of how creationists don't follow the Bible at all despite them insisting that they do!
According to the Bible, Noah was to take up all kinds of animals into the ark, not just their “representatives.” Every one of those animals, a male and a female, is to enter the ark to be saved from the Flood, no questions asked. Plus, the Flood could not buried the doomed people and animals but instead just simply wash them all away. No meters, no volcanoes, no comets, and no earthquakes having anything to do with the Flood. It just rained.
Then Ham concludes his tripe by saying,
“After the Flood, around 4,300 years ago, the remnant of the land animals, including dinosaurs, came off the Ark and lived in the present world, along with people. Because of sin, the judgments of the Curse and the Flood have greatly changed earth. Post-Flood climatic change, lack of food, disease, and man’s activities caused many types of animals to become extinct. The dinosaurs, like many other creatures, died out.”
This is his “theory” of how the dinosaurs meet their end, all occurring during the time of the 6th dynasty reign of Egypt whom none have in fact any recollections whatsoever of such an event, let alone have any recollections whatsoever of seeing live dinosaurs and other extinct life prancing about among their newly built pyramids. You see how creationists like Ham is making up all of this? And how they expect you to embrace them out of total ignorance to the actual contrary? Ham may not be the first one who made all of this up about dinosaurs, but he's sure is the first one to actively endorse this tripe in a big way while gaining publicity, power, and great wealth as a result from all this.
Ham has a strange definition of what the Curse is made up of. In a creationist's eyes, the Curse is defined as every disastrous phenomenon that occurs on Earth as well as in Outer Space. This is the result of ripping Biblical verses out of context and distort it to have it explain why is there disastrous phenomenons occurring throughout the world such as violent storms, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, meteor showers, tsunamis, droughts, and any other kind of natural and unnatural disaster in the world. To them, just the concept of Adam being cursed to toil in sweat for his food is not the right definition for the term "Curse." So, they just threw everything disastrous in the mix from hurricanes to bubonic plague to make it more dramatic than what the Curse is really all about.
The Curse only affects Adam, Eve, all of their descendants, and the snake. The Earth, the elements, and everything else had nothing to do with the sin that was committed by Adam and Eve. According to the Bible, Adam is cursed to toil in sweat in order to raise his own food. The Bible did not say that the Curse had to include natural disasters, diseases, predators, and mutations in the mix. The creationists just threw it in there to make it more dramatic than what God has heaped up on Adam. Toiling in sweat is definitely punishment enough for Adam's sin, don't you think?
Note 1: Read the passages Ham gives out in full context and you'll find that they do not have anything to do with what creationists long assumes that they do.
Note 2: Genesis 1:29-30 has only scores to do with plant death which contradicts the notion of no death occurring before the fall.
The next part of Ham's tripe asks, “Why such different views?” The answer is very simple. According to Skepticwiki, it's not that the creationists and the evolutionists are seeing the same thing, yet have different point of views about them, it's just that the evolutionists are looking at valid evidence to explain things while creationists are only looking at as Skepticwiki puts it, “..a bunch of silly lies that they read in some creationist pamphlet or website.” Now that's definitely the difference between the 2 parties, one looks at hardcore evidence while the other looks at what they themselves made up from their heads while uselessly probing the Bible for nonexistent explanations for anything from dinosaurs to hurricanes.
Ham used this point of view tripe in his crackhouse through a racial display set up to make the visitors have an impression that the white holy man stereotype, worthlessly using the Bible to explain a dinosaur fossil being unearthed that's erroneously said to be dated 300 million years ago, along with the black man stereotype who is just looking at the fossil not caring about what the old testament stereotype is claiming to say, are both looking at the fossil yet each carry a different point of view about it. The real difference is that the creationists are not actually looking at the fossil at all out of fear of losing their salvation, or so they believed. They knew that if they look at an actual fossil in all the details, they will clearly find something that will deliberately shaken, even destroy their beliefs. So they try to be careful in focus only on what they, especially Henry Morris, made up from their heads while shunning the actual evidence pointing to the exact opposite.
In this section, Ham cloaks young earthism as “historical or origins science” which according to him,
"Origins science deals with the past, which is not accessible to direct experimentation, whereas operational science deals with how the world works in the here and now, which, of course, is open to repeatable experiments."
In other words, Origins (or historical) science and creationism are all in fact one and the same. A crafty way to disguise creationism so that people won't know the truth about creationism being a religious belief. This is pure deception right here. An attempt to weasel creationism into public schools in hope of proselytizing children into following his idiocy.
In the next paragraph Ham states that paleontologists who accepts his ways will reach a different conclusions than atheists who reject the Bible. “Willful denial of God’s Word (2 Peter 3:3–7 taken out of context) lies at the root of many disputes over historical science.“ he says.
In other words, anyone who reject Ham's way of the Bible are all lying atheists who takes delight in attacking Ham's way of the Bible out of “willful ignorance.” while the Real Willful Ignorant and Denial refuses to acknowledge the scientific evidence for evolution and the old earth that clearly proves their way of the Bible and the young earth to be an absolute lie. Ham and his cronies would rather avoid the evidence than face it and focus only on the writings of their “father,” Henry Morris and his pathetically stupid writings to fight a losing battle against the “willful ignorant” who in so many cases acknowledge the Bible as the authoritative Word of God.
Next, Ham wants all of history and science to begin with The Bible to which he claims,
…is the History Book of the Universe and tells us the future destiny of the universe as well. It gives us an account of when time began, the main events of history, such as the entrance of sin and death into the world, the time when the whole surface of the globe was destroyed by water, the giving of different languages at the Tower of Babel, the account of the Son of God coming as a man, His death and Resurrection, and the new heavens and earth to come.”
Did you ever notice how he skips most of the Bible and focus only the parts of the Bible that only matters to him and all others like him? That's what he's doing here in the quote. As you can see here in his so-called 7 Cs of God's (Alleged) Eternal Plan plaque in his stupid crackhouse, he only focuses on Genesis 1-11, the 4 Gospels, some passages in Isaiah about wolves laying with the lamb and lions eating straw, 2nd Peter's passage about the “Willful Ignorant,” Revelation 21, and nothing else in the Bible. The apparent reason why he does this is to ignore the so many passages in the Bible along with very many supplemental forms of Biblical literature that clearly debunks his version of the so-called history book of the universe.
Branding the bible as “the history book of the universe” makes no difference in every way. For there are very many religious groups who will do the very same thing to their sacred texts and brand them as the history book of the universe as the Qur'an, Tor'ah, The Tao-te-ching, The Book of Mormon, and all other forms of religious texts known. The reason Ham calls the Bible all that is because he did it out of great bigotry toward those he greatly oppose.
The next segment tells about 2 ways of thinking, Ham's way (the Pinky way) and the Truth (the Brain way). According to Ham,
"Ultimately, there are only two ways of thinking: starting with the revelation from God (the Bible) as foundational to all thinking (including biology, history, and geology), resulting in a Christian worldview; or starting with man’s beliefs (for example, the evolutionary story) as foundational to all thinking, resulting in a secular worldview."
Which translates to,
“Ultimately, there are only two ways of thinking: starting with the revelation from myself as foundational to all thinking (including biology, history, and geology), resulting in my worldview; or starting with man's acceptance (for example, the evolutionary evidence) that don't accept what I teach as foundational to all thinking, resulting in a realistic worldview.”
This kind of attitude is no different than the attitudes of so many pastors who are abusive and destructive to anyone who attends his church. Manipulative, controlling, and downright perverted, these pastors will do whatever it takes to keep his followers in line, including death threats, condemnations to Hell if one leaves his church, wear jewelry, jeans, make-up, etc, forcing even children to bow to his ways and have sex with them, forcing their husbands to beat their wives and children to submission, and so much more. Ham is such a pastor. Give him a chance and he will become so destructive that no one, not even his own cronies, will ever follow his ways no matter how severe his threats are.
He then went on to claim,
“Most Christians have been indoctrinated through the media and education system to think in a secular way. They tend to take secular thinking to the Bible, instead of using the Bible to build their thinking.”
Which translates to,
“Most Christians have been convinced through the media and education system to think in a realistic way. They tend to take 'realistic' thinking to the Bible, instead of using what I teach to build their thinking.”
This accusation has hypocrisy written all over it. Being such an over-religious zealot, Ham shows no shame in treating anything outside his made-up dogma as “secularized religion” without giving himself a second thought to know that the only thing that really does indoctrinate through the media and education system to think in a secular way is young earthism itself. Especially after seeing what creationists tell them about science, history, etc. is all a lie, forcing them to question their Christian beliefs and go through a spiritual crisis— all because of what creationists have done to them.
Now, look at the 2 verses Ham is invoking to justify his tripe,
The Bible says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge” (Proverbs 1:7) and “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10).
And the fear of an abusive pastor (like Ham) is the beginning of ignorance and the fear of an abusive pastor (like Ham) is the beginning of destruction. Quoting those 2 Bible verses, Ham in the conclusion of the segment wants the reader to believe,
“If one begins with an evolutionary view of history (for which there were no witnesses or written record), then this way of thinking will be used to explain the evidence that exists in the present. Thus, we have the evolutionary explanation for dinosaurs above. But if one begins with the biblical view of history from the written record of an eyewitness (God) to all events of history, then a totally different way of thinking, based on this, will be used to explain the same evidence. Thus, we have the biblical explanation given above.”
Which all translates to,
“If one begins with a reality view of history (for which there are factual evidence from the fossil, historical, and archaeological records), then this way of thinking will be used to explain the evidence that exists in the present. Thus, we have the real explanation for dinosaurs above. But if one begins with the ignorant view of history from the written record of a false eyewitness (me) to all events of history, then a totally different way of thinking, based on this, will be used to explain the same evidence. Thus, we have the false explanation given above.”
If one really does obtain rightful knowledge of Bible and science, then it will be discovered how Ham is blaspheme God by branding Him "The biggest liar of all" despite Ham's constant claims about him being a God who's [sic] "perfect and never lies."
