Here's another "gem" from Creation Ministries International which claims that what is shown in the fossil record is consistent with Noah's Flood while ignoring the real evidence behind the fossil record that was formed by anything BUT Noah's Flood. This article, entitled Watery catastrophe deduced from huge Ceratopsian dinosaur graveyard, claims that the cause of the mass fossil beds that hold vast fossil remains of ceratopsians is consistent with the Flood of Noah. But as you can see, it's not without problems and flaws that associates with the claim; the claim is done out of ignorance of evidence pointing to events similar to the annual African wildebeest migration.
Written by Michael Oard, the man behind his Flood Follies, starts out in his article by explaining who are the ceratopids and states at the end of the photograph in parentheses,
"The taxonomic history of Centrosaurus, as well as other ceratopsians, is convoluted. It is possible that ceratopsians represent one or very few Genesis kinds with a significant amount of variety."
In other words, according to Oard, all ceratopsians evolve from one or few imaginary "Genesis kinds" that appeared on the 6th day of Creation along with the other few less than 200 different types of animals, never mind the rest of the 90 million+ animals God seems to forgot to create! Folks, what you have just witness is pure, irrefutable proof that young earth creationists teach evolution despite their constant claims of it being a lie and that none of it has ever occurred.
The next paragraph brings up one ceratopid bed, dubbed Bone Bed 43, which contains a herd of 38 Centrosauruses ranging from full-grown adults to juveniles. Centrosaurus is a late Cretaceous dinosaur that lived 75 million years ago, whose 38 of their remains have been found in a fossil bed located in the badlands along the Red Deer River of Dinosaur Provincial Park, about 50 km north of Brooks, Alberta. These remains are said to be of Centrosaurs that have died while trying to cross a river at flood stage in a scenario similar to that of Wildebeests making a dangerous river crossing. In the next paragraph, Oard explains the fossil bed and what the fossil bed contains, including so many shed Albertosaurus teeth and teeth marks dotting a few Centrosaur bones. He went on about how scientists have concluded that the fossil beds, along with Bone Bed 43, must have formed as the result of some watery catastrophes and waterborne flows with the exception of the Mongolian fossil beds which is said to have been formed by sandstorms. But Oard claims,
"On further analysis, these dinosaurs were likely buried in a waterborne mass flow."
Andrew Snelling is claimed to have further analysis made of the area according to the 7th reference below the article. He is the one who concluded that the fossil bed was formed as a result of the animals of the region being buried in a waterborne mass flow. However, both Snelling and Oard's analysis is entirely flawed, just like Oard's Flood Folly. To be waterborne is to be transported along the surface of the water such as logs and disease carrying parasites. When scientists study the fossil areas of Mongolia, they found that the animals living in the region, eggs in all, have died and were buried on the spot. There is no way can a waterborne flow leave animals in one spot, but sandstorms and collapsing sand dunes can.
At the last part of the Catastrophic death by drowning section, Snelling asserts
"Uniformitarian scientists predictably interpret all these dinosaur graveyards as evidence of river flood processes. </i><i>But the number of dinosaurs, the state of preservation indicating rapid burial, reworking and fossilization; the monospecific nature of many bone beds;.."
Not all fossil beds are "interpreted" as evidence of river flood processes, though. Some bone beds are confirmed to have formed by volcanic ashfalls. Some bone beds contain evidence of burrows and dung which creationists have a huge hard time explaining how do they fit in their Flood Folly. And many others are confirmed to have formed by sandstorms, collapsing sand dunes, and droughts. And how does the Flood rework the remains into the positions they were found in? According to creationwiki, it doesn't,
"From all these examples, a general trend emerges. The best fossilization occurs when there is rapid burial and anoxic conditions to prevent scavenging, no reworking by currents, and diagentic alteration which preserves a fossil rather than destroy it. These conditions are what is expected in models of the Flood." [my emphases in bold]
Looks like we have the best example of creationist contradicting creationist.
"…and the lack of babies or young juveniles in practically all bone beds indicate a watery catastrophe larger than river floods."
What a blatant lie. Oard has totally forgot about the many fossil beds which contains numerous fossil remains of young juveniles and babies found in fossil beds belonging to the Titanosaurs, Maiasauria, Protoceratops/, and especially Centrosaurus.
Both Oard and creationwiki is ignorant of the fact that there's overwhelming evidence of scavenging found in many fossil beds throughout the world along with burrows, dung, foot tracks that only show slow walking patterns, eggs, babies, and nests being buried on the spot instead of being washed away, the slow formation of amber and coal. All these irrefutable evidences is what creationists like Oard have failed to explain without resorting to empty, worthless "God done it" miracles to explain them.
The last part of the article shows Oard's ignorance and explains in his own way of how the fossils were formed during the Flood, including the dinosaur herding together out of fear, laying eggs and scavenging on dead remains temporary before being swallowed up by the flood only to start all over again with the remaining survivors herding, scavenging, laying eggs, and raising young at a higher temporary sediment until the whole process starts again and again and again… And according to him, the reason there were no babies alongside their parents is because the adults were able to flee to higher ground faster than— WHAT KIND OF STUPIDITY IS OARD TEACHING?!
No wonder why this is to be regarded as Oard's Flood Folly— no, THE ULTIMATE FLOOD FOLLY! The Flood according to young earth creationists that greatly contradicts the Bible which really says that throughout the 40 days and 40 nights it rained, all living beings outside the ark died. By the time the rain stopped, God sends out a gust of wind and the Floodwaters began to go down. If creationists wanted to follow the Bible to a tee, they must conclude that this is exactly what the Bible says about Noah's Flood; all land being outside the ark died during the forty days and forty nights it rained. Then when the rain ended, the water went straight down to reveal the peaks of mountains. Then finally, by the time Noah left the ark, the land was completely dry.
Nowhere did the bible say that mountains rose when the Flood waters were going down. Nowhere did the bible say that most beings survived the first 150 days of the Flood. Nowhere did the bible say that volcanoes, geysers erupted when the Flood began. And above all nowhere did the bible say that the waters were still receding when Noah left the ark. Nowhere! Creationists have deliberately schemed to create such as false scenario to explain the formation of fossil beds, ancient rivers, lakes, canyons, seaways, volcanic eruptions, and meteor showers while ignoring major problems that associate with them. This flood scenario, creationists claimed to have occurred 4,500 years ago, clearly goes against the bible. And yet, you creationists demand us to accept all this as literal truth and biblically sounded? NOT A SNOWBALL'S CHANCE IN HELL WE WILL!!
The real explanation behind the fossil beds, the eggs, the footprints and everything else is that they all occurred each separately over a period of millions of years. Dinosaurs of the same kind or species herd up to engage in annual migratory routes to fresh pastures and to places where they raise their young. Meat-eating dinosaurs will follow close behind to pick out the old, the sick, and the weak from the herd. The herd of Chasmosaurs would have drown the same way hundreds of wildebeest drowned when they tried to cross the river at flood stage year after year. Like the drowned Wildebeest, Hundreds of drowned ceratopid bodies is washed down the river to a certain spot where they were picked on by scavengers lurking about in search of food. If what Oard said to be the case, The Flood Folly will have give these dinosaurs no chances at all to eat, mate, lay eggs, and especially raise their young.
